Marvel Pegs Blame On ‘Avengers: Age Of Ultron’ Trailer Leak, You Won’t Believe Who

The internet exploded Wednesday evening with the leak of the full Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer, as The Inquisitr reported. While Marvel Studios played whack-a-mole by sending out cease and desist orders to various websites, it also took a very tongue-in-cheek approach in its public response via Twitter.

Well played, Marvel. Well played. The rest of Twitter agrees.

For those that don’t get the reference, Hydra, the evil Nazi science division, played a pivotal role in Captain America: The Winter Soldier as well as the ABC TV series, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. It created a huge shakeup in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which leads directly to Avengers: Age of Ultron for multiple reasons.

Two of those reasons can actually be seen in the trailer in the form of Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch. This super powered brother-sister duo played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Godzilla) and Elizabeth Olsen (Godzilla) was introduced in the mid-credits scene for The Winter Soldier. True to their comic book origins, they will start out as bad guys. Meanwhile, the anticipation of James Spader as the voice behind Ultron just reached new levels with the first look at his work behind the villainous artificial intelligence. The dustup between Hulk and Iron Man in his Hulkbuster armor looks to be full of epic punching as well.

The trailer was supposed to release officially on Tuesday, October 28 during Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. That was before someone got their mitts on what appears to be the international version. The giveaway is that the trailer marks the release date as April 2015 when it is already slated for a May 1, 2015 release in North America. We’ll have to wait and see if Marvel sticks to its marketing plan.
