Six High School Students Suspended For Prostitution In Boy’s Bathroom [Video]

Six Bolton High School Students in Memphis, Tennessee have been suspended for alleged prostitution, according to Live 5 News. There may be more suspensions to come. While the students at Bolton High School and their parents are calling the incident prostitution, the officials from the Shelby County School system have labeled it “allegations of inappropriate behavior.”

This “inappropriate behavior,” as they call it, involves a 14-year-old ninth grade female student offering sex to male students in exchange for money. Although she would sometimes perform the sex acts for free, most times she would charge $5 for the act, as reported by My Fox 8.

A fellow male student, whose identity is being protected, said the girl would pass around notes or just let other students know by word of mouth about her offerings. He went on to say that the sex acts usually “took place during lunch in the boy’s bathroom,” as reported by Live 5 News.

“There was like a line 10 people almost every day. She just turning around at me in class always smiling at me… There’s something wrong with her, and I hate it.”

The anonymous student continues to tell WMC that teachers were not aware this was going on even though it started at the very beginning of the school year, and has been continuing for two months.

A parent, Dorothy Sanders, tells WMC her children came home and told her what had been happening regarding the alleged prostitution.

“Bolton needs to crack down on this because this is not even normal. I don’t want my kids coming home telling me about this.”

Sanders may be on the right track because Live 5 News reveals that “Deborah Clubb, head of the Memphis Area Women’s Council, says the girl’s behavior is an indication of a serious problem, maybe even abuse.”

This is not the first time that Bolton High School has been in the hot seat and made the news in a negative way. In September of this year, a grand jury indicted a teacher and a coach for statutory rape; now this prostitution incident brings up a whole new media frenzy with the school.

Shelby County Schools has decided to handle this investigation of their own without the involvement of the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office. SCS instead are using administrative and counseling teams in an effort to interview the students.

Wezley Kearney, a recent Bolton High School graduate, tells WMC that he is very disappointed in in alma mater. Kearney says when he attended there, “it was nothing like that. Nobody did anything like that. It was just like regular high school.”
