Crockett Keller Bans Muslims and Obama Supporters From Gun Training in Radio Ad [Video]

Posted: October 29, 2011

keller

Crockett Keller, the owner of Keller’s Riverside Store in Mason, Texas, wants to show you how to obtain and use a Concealed Handgun License. But there’s one catch. Keller won’t teach any Muslims or Obama supporters.

A radio ad released by Keller says:

“We will attempt to teach you all the necessary information you need to obtain your [Concealed Handgun License]… “If you are a socialist liberal and/or voted for the current campaigner in chief, please do not take this class. You have already proven that you cannot make a knowledgeable and prudent decision under the law… If you are a non-Christian Arab or Muslim, I will not teach you the class with no shame; I am Crockett Keller, thank you, and God bless America.”

And no, Crockett Keller is not a character on Saturday Night Live. The radio ad is not some satirical spoof. Those words are actually in the ad.

Here’s a video of Crockett Keller’s anti-muslim / anti-Obama supporter gun training commercial.

According to the Lookout, the ad ran for six days on KHLB, Mason’s local station.

After the inevitable controversy erupted, Keller was interviewed by the local news station, KVUE. Keller said:

“The fact is, if you are a devout Muslim, then you cannot be a true American… Why should I arm these people to kill me? That’s suicide… I call it exercising my right to choose who I instruct in how to use a dangerous weapon.”

But does that right exist? Does Keller have the right to choose who he gives gun lessons to?

According to the Department of Public Safety, no, he does not. The DPS said in a statement:

“Conduct by an instructor that denied service to individuals on the basis of race, ethnicity or religion would place that instructor’s certification by the Department at risk of suspension or revocation.”

The Department of Public Safety is currently investigating Crockett Keller’s operation. But Keller says that he isn’t going to back down.

Keller said:

“I’m not going to do it… I will give up my license to teach before I will teach (Muslims and Obama supporters.)

Isn’t that a relief?

hey Dan Evon , author of the article -To respond to your last line in the article , it is not a relief. Try reporting the facts without trying to inject your opinion. You should be familiar with the Muslim word – JIHAD.To train the enemy is TREASON. Mr. Keller is justified in his beliefs.

  8. GREAT! GREAT!

  9. What an idiot. I am embarrassed to be a texan. He should actually get out of Mason Texas and learn a little about his Muslim neighbors here in Texas, hard working, family orientes who want a better plife for their families…just…like…you. You can't blame 911 on the Muslim people, but rather the 29 crazies who hid behind the religion. Just like the Irish IRA used religion or the Christian Militants in Africa, to kill others in the name of god.

You should be familiar with what "jihad" actually means. Go read a book.

There are plenty of Muslims fighting for the US :)

Jihad has many meanings from what I have read . And given the context of gun training, I stand by my statement and Mr. Keller.

  20. so you cant be muslim and a true american? even if you live in america, where one of the original rights is freedom of religion? youd think people with such american pride would at least understand how america works, was founded, etc. herp derp

  21. but hes in Texas, hes training Americans, not the enemy. I am confused.

  22. Mr Keller I am a former US Marine. I have owned weapons all my adult life. 160 years ago you and your ilk were and probally still are prejudice aginst my religion ( Catholic ) The name of their party was the Know nothings. It should still be the name of your political beliefs. You say you belive in the constution and yet you only belive in the parts you agree with. You sir are a hypocrite.

Only the most ignorant people would agree with this un-american tub of lard. Real America? Was that before or after we massacred the people who owned the land we took?

So am I "the enemy" because I'm Muslim? I also have my concealed carry. How ironic.

Convictions of terrorists and their sympathizers are not so uncommon in the USA Marty. And Lauren ,many Muslims consider Jihad to be a "death to the infidel" order .But you knew that .Toy with someone else.

No, "jihad" means a struggle. Muslim does not mean terrorist. Do you know how many Christian terrorists there are? Educate yourself.

  28. I like how this moron and others like him think that Muslim = non American out to get him. I know plenty of Muslims who have better things to do with their time.

  29. Marty Glassley you're not confused. You can't rationalize with morons, it doesn't work. They run on misconceptions and stereotypes.

  30. Discriminating against another person because of their race, religion, or political beliefs is not suppose to be "our ways". If Mr. Keller doesn't like it, maybe he should go somewhere else.

When I google jihad ,as I said , there are many different meanings.Muslim does not mean terrorist is correct ,as is the statement there are christian terrorists. I never said muslim meant terrorist .You lose the debate when you belittle the speaker and not the statements .We are allowed a difference of opinion . Name calling by Maurice just shows what ?. Inability to have an intelligent dialogue .

  32. A damn fool. Did the current president start the bullshit war in iraq over the wmds that were never found? Did the current president start the bail out? Did the current president crash the economy? Did the current president fail to find bin laden? Did the current president fail the USA on 911 by allowing us to be attack in our own country? The answer is no, he fixed all of the crap that GW left behind and yet he gets blamed for it.

  33. And you evidently support limiting his freedom of speech, and free will and debase yourself with name calling. CPO (Ret) Rogerson

  34. In my 26 year military carreer, I only met 1 muslim, who had sto stop what he was doing at prayer time… regardles of what was happening. NOT a good guy to have around in combat. My guess is, there are not an awful lot of true muslims in the military. I could be wrong, but I served with hundreds of people in my time. ENC Rodge

  35. Benedict Arnold was an "American" also!

  36. Oh Wait a sec. Major Nidal Hassan was in the Army! Sorry ….I forgot for a moment! Chief Rodge

Jim Rogerson I'm American. I'm Muslim. I have my concealed carry. Voila!

  39. Yes, but is one a good sample size to go of off? Muslims (and liberals) have died for this country. They have, by that very act, done more for it than Crockett Keller ever will. I have no respect for him not only for his views, but the fact that he, being a licensed CCW instructor for the state of Texas, is using that position to malign certain groups (Which is against the rules and stipulations of that license).

On another note, thank you for your service.

What makes white folks like you, the expert on what a "TRUE AMERICAN" is? keller is a ignorant racist, and judging by your comment you are too! TRUE AMERICANS, love this country, and understand that this country is made up by a mixture of all nationalities and religions. You sir, should thank Satan for keller…..not God!

Jim Rogerson Oh my God! Benedict Arnold was a Muslim?!? Wait. I'm confused.

  42. Nakiba Bethea And if people don't like his preferences, they too can go somewhere else. That's the beauty of freedom.

  43. but for what call or freedom. ares are theirs.

  44. no it should not be that way, if the lives that are lost so other can look down at our then she-he he go somewhere else. He can practice how he believes where they have lost life for it, fought for it. do not try to take it away or rub are freedom in are face.

  45. would you mind teach an old dude in kansas city.mo. for CC i carry a lot i believe in open one day i will be in big trouble you have anyone in kansas city mo. who beleive like you.

Dale Smith For what call of freedom? Ours. I have three friends that are in active duty right know that are Muslim, one even joined right after 9/11.

  47. Jim Rogerson True Americans were given pox riddled blankets. After that, they were hunted down or quarantined until they weren't a problem anymore. I stand by Kellers right to speak, but he is racist. I forgive his age for a part of that. Growing up in East Texas it may as well be the deep south or up in the mountains. Benedict is branded as a traitor. Maybe he saw what his country was doing and didn't like where it was headed. I know if Rick Perry gets in the white house I'll become an ex-pat. Thank you for fighting for the country, because I sure as hell won't. I don't agree with any of the reasons given for occupying Iraq or Afghanistan. What do you think an "American" is? I've no tolerance for intolerance. Call me a liberal, but this idealistic technicolor 50's America never existed.

  48. John Kelder It's also against the law to discriminate against age, sex, race or religion. That's American laws.

  49. Out of curiosity I looked at your friends list. Almost 500ppl. Impressive. I think you've beaten the odds here. Not one black person in the whole list. I mean either you are so far back in the hills or…no…maybe you're not fond of people of color?

  50. Ya. It is a relief.

  51. I am in the market to get myself a pitola

  52. While u may not agree with his ideals, he is just asserting his American right to teach whomever he wants. Racist? Ignorant? Maybe. But in my mind anyone who posts a comment saying that he's a loon or a bigot is an idiot because he's doing nothing more than asserting his constitutional rights. If you have such a problem with it, go find him and tell him yourself instead of whining about it on a page that I'm sure he doesn't even look at. That's the real problem with this country, everyone just bitches about everything instead of doing something. And by doing something I don't know trying to sue him over a violation of civil rights because that's a bunch of bs. Get real people.

so if a “non-christian” comes in he will deny selling them guns and teaching them how to shoot? what if a homosexual comes in right? is he going to deny them guns too or deny teaching them how to shoot guns? he seems a bit of a bigot… yes if you feel uncomfortable selling your gun to someone fine, but leave religion and politics out of it because number one it isn't any of his business what religion I am or what political party I voted for… PERIOD… END OF STORY… if he doesn't like the 1st admendment of freedom of religion then he can get out, but he better not let the back door hit him in the ass….
