Battlefield 3 ‘Back to Karkand’ DLC due out in December

Posted: October 28, 2011

EA and DICE sent word today that Battlefield 3‘s first DLC, ‘Back to Karkand‘, is due for release in December. If you pre-ordered your copy, you’ll be getting it for free.

The first Battlefield 3 adds in four classic Battlefield maps, including Strike at Karkand, Gulf of Oman, Wake Island and Sharqi Peninsula. In addition to that, the expansion will bring with it five new dog tags, five new achievements, three new vehicles (DPV, BTR-90, and F-35B STOVL) and ten “iconic” Battlefield weapons.

A specific release date and pricing plans weren’t revealed in the announcement, but an early December release is likely. PlayStation 3 owners will be able to cop the expansion, along with all future DLC and expansions, a week earlier than Xbox 360 and PC users.

No new trailer accompanied the announcement, but EA was kind enough to at least send over some new screenshots. You can check them all out directly below.
