Insanity: Men Climbing on High Voltage Live Power Lines in Faraday Suits

high-voltage-cable-inspection-a-video-from-monnotman-high-voltage-cable-inspection

The following footage apparently comes from a Discovery special and shows maintenance workers climbing along high voltage live power lines in nothing more than faraday suits.

The science behind the suits is oddly sound, so they are safe from a charge, but even if we accept the idea that 50,000 volt power lines (or stronger) can’t be shut down for inspection, the helicopter ride to the lines, or even the way they slide along them is completely and utterly insane.
