Missy Elliott Loses Incredible Weight: Hip-Hop Star Can Really ‘Work It’ Now!

Missy Elliott has lost an incredible amount of weight! The rapper looked amazing during a performance on Thursday night in New York City. According to Too Fab, this was Missy’s second public appearance of the year — and she definitely turned heads. Although she has been battling Graves Disease, Missy previously said that she had been working out — and that she was managing her illness through diet and exercise.

“I’m 30 pounds lighter because I’ve been exercising. Under my doctor’s supervision, I’ve been off medication for about a year and I’m completely managing the condition through diet and exercise,” Elliott said back in 2011. It looks like she’s done extremely well for herself.

Missy Elliott told fans that she was excited to relaunch her music career, but so far, she has not announced an album. As previously reported by The Inquisitr, Missy has not released a full album since 2005 (The Cookbook), but has not left the music world completely. She has done a few collaborations with Timbaland — and a couple of singles were released back in 2012 — but that’s about it.

“When I create something, it’s gotta be special, and it can’t just be to throw something out there because I feel like I’m Missy. I gotta feel like what I’m giving the fans is 100% and that it’s game-changing. I don’t just throw out microwave records.”

Missy Elliott fans have waited for years for her to make new music… and with her live performance this week, the time couldn’t be better. The 43-year-old clearly still has what it takes. According to Us Weekly, Elliott performed some of her best hits, from “Get Ur Freak On” to “Work It,” and the crowd loved every minute of it!

It seems as though Elliott has changed her life for the better. She is healthier, which has a lot to do with her moving forward with life. Now that her illness is in check, she may start feeling well enough to get back into the studio and make some music magic. Would you buy a Missy album? Do you think she still has what it takes to top the charts?
