Ansel Elgort ‘Couldn’t Be Happier’ About ‘The Fault In Our Stars’ – Here’s Why!

Ansel Elgort does not mind being known for his performance in the hit movie The Fault In Our Stars.

In a recent interview with Hero Magazine, the 20-year old actor stated that he “couldn’t be happier” about it primarily because of the film being so “much about the performances and the characters.”

“I couldn’t be happier about being known for The Fault in Our Stars. I’m lucky because a lot of people get known for big films and don’t really get to show themselves. They are just known because the film is so popular. But this film was so much about the performances and the characters that it really was like an acting piece for both Shailene and me.”

Ansel Elgort later stated that he would love to be known in Hollywood for his memorable role in The Fault in Our Stars as Augustus Waters rather than the role of Caleb Prior that he played in the big-budget film Divergent. Although he admits that Divergent was a great movie, The Fault in Our Stars allowed Ansel to show that he can “really act.”

“We are so happy to be known for that because, as much as I think Divergent is a great movie, if I was only known for that I’d be like, ‘Wait until you see me really act.'”

It is true that Ansel Elgort’s performance in Divergent secured him a supporting role in what could be one of the most popular book-to-movie franchises of the decade, his dramatic performance in The Fault In Our Stars opened even more doors of opportunity.

Currently, Ansel Elgort is promoting his newest movie — the Jason Reitman-directed Men, Women and Children. Elgort will also star in the next installment of the Divergent movie franchise, Insurgent, which is scheduled to be released on March 20, 2015.

Perhaps one of the biggest doors of opportunity opened to Ansel Elgort because of his dramatic turn in The Fault In Our Stars occurred when he landed the titular character in the biopic Van Cliburn. In addition to using his acting skills for the movie, according to Deadline, Ansel Elgort will also get the chance to showcase his piano playing skills within the same performance.

As Ansel Elgort progressively becomes a household name in Hollywood, he is finding it rather difficult to deal with celebrity life in general — especially when it comes to being noticed in public for his work.

“I realized that I can’t go get ice cream in Los Angeles, that’s not an option. I can’t do it. Even if only one person recognizes me, the whole shop, even if they don’t know who I am, wants pictures and autographs.”

Hopefully, Ansel Elgort will learn to handle these types of problems just as effectively as other A-list celebrities because it won’t be much longer before he is on that list as well.
