Man Caught Trying to Board Plane with Grenade. Jackass….no Really, it was Johnny Knoxville

Jackass star Johnny Knoxville was detained at LAX this morning for trying to board a plane with a grenade in his luggage.
Authorities picked up the grenade at security, and immediately detained Knoxville. Initial reports suggest that grenade was a fake, but it was later discovered it was real, but lacked explosives (an empty grenade?).
Knoxville was cited for carrying a prohibited item and sent on his way.

It was a real grenade apparently but without any explosives so could do about as much harm as throwing a stone. I doubt that excuse would wash with airport security.
