‘Batman V Superman’ Filming Moving To New Mexico [Report]

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice filming continues in Detroit for now, but as Zack Snyder enters the last weeks of shooting what we presume is all the footage for Gotham City, a source says filming will move to New Mexico in the near future. Once things wrap up in Michigan, cast and crew are set to move to Chicago and Plano, Illinois.

According to a report in the Albuquerque ABC Affiliate, sets for Batman v Superman are being built near Deming, in Southwestern New Mexico. The information that filming will start in November is also being reported by One Headlight Link, a local film blog.

In September a casting call from Warner Bros., which is producing the sequel to Man of Steel, went out asking for extras for the portion being filmed in New Mexico. We expect Batman v Superman filming to continue in Michigan for a few more weeks and then Snyder and Co. will pack their bags and take off to Illinois and now New Mexico.

The announcement about New Mexico comes after Batman v Superman filming in Morocco was unexpectedly canceled last month. It’s safe to believe that a location in the U.S. was chosen to fill in for the African nation.

Currently, the production is filming a scene for which they have been prepping for a long time. We have seen several reports on Twitter that the Batman v Superman filming was moving to the Broad Museum located in the Michigan State University campus this week, and there was also a casting call for a night shoot in Lansing this week.

As you can see from the tweets, this Batman v Superman scene involved Lex Luthor, or at least his Corporation. We have not spotted any of the main cast walking around as in previous weeks, and we are still waiting for that first glimpse of Ben Affleck in his Batman costume, which may not come until the movie comes out on March 25, 2016.
