‘Sims 4’ Could Be Headed To Consoles — Pools And Mac Release Confirmed

The popular life simulation video game franchise recently released the latest installment of the series, Sims 4. Reviews for the game have already been coming back positive and Sims 4 is a huge hit in the U.K. While a new expansion pack for Sims 4 is already in the works, news about Sims 4 expanding to other gaming systems has been unconfirmed. Until today.

According to The International Business Times, the producer of Sims 4, Ryan Vaughan, has teased at the possibility of the game making its way to home consoles like XBox One and Playstation 4. Fans of the Sims title have been begging the developers to port the game to Mac computers and other home systems and Vaughan may be bringing some good news. The Mac edition of Sims 4, at least, has been confirmed.

“We’re looking at where we want to go next,” said Vaughan. “We are working on a Mac version [of Sims 4] right now. It’s something that our players really, really want so that’s in the works. Where we go from there is really open for question right now. We’re taking a lot of feedback and adding a lot of stuff in the game.”

Another major plea from Sims fans has been the inclusion of swimming pools, something past Sim games have had that players loved but was mysteriously absent from Sims 4. Vaughan has confirmed that pools will also be making their way to an updated version of Sims 4.

“When our players are asking for pools, they’re not just asking for the ability to take their Sims swimming or to jump in. What they really want is the ability to drown their Sims. I’m impressed by the ideas that people have and the creativity they put into their stories and the games they have.”

It may seem obnoxious that so many Sims fans are making demands, but developers of Sims 4 don’t seem to mind.

“We’re already listening to fans and I want to encourage them to keep telling us things, keep yelling at us online. We love that. Not just from a business perspective: I’m a video game developer and I want to make the most fun game possible. Keep up what you’re saying and tell us what you want.”

As for the requests to bring The Sims 4 to consoles like XBox and Playstation, Vaughan wouldn’t speak on that topic — but Latinos Post reports that Electronic Arts might explain why The Sims 4 hasn’t made it that far in the near future.
