Pastor Who Forced Vasectomies And Genital Exams Claims ‘I’m Not A Homosexual’

Ernest Angley, the Ohio pastor suspected of abusing his power to force his church members to get vasectomies and abortions, is doing his best to defend himself against the accusations–but mainly trying to make it clear that, despite giving many male church members genital examinations, he’s not a homosexual.

Nintey-three-year-old Ernest Angley spoke to the USA Today Network about the accusations being brought against him after reporter Bob Dyer interviewed 21 church members calling Angley’s church a “cult.” Angley didn’t admit to examining the genitalia of male church members until Dyer came forward with a recording of a church service clearly depicting Angley in the act.

The local Ohio paper, the Akron Beacon Journal, then reported that Ernest Angley confessed to the “examinations.”

“Sure, I’d have them uncover themselves but I did not handle them at all.”

Since these reports, Angley has come forward to clear the air about his suspected abuse of power and supposed homosexuality.

“I’m not a homosexual. God wouldn’t use a homosexual like he uses me. He calls me his prophet, and indeed I am. They called Jesus a homosexual, did you know that? And still do. Because he was with men.”

When admitting to the genital exams, Angley tried to describe the scene in a way that proved innocent intentions. After encouraging vasectomies, Angley claimed he had to explain how the process would work, having male church members expose themselves in the process.

“And I would tell them how that would work. And they’d have to watch it. I’d have some of them come back to me that I felt needed to. And I would tell them, I would look at them, their privates — I, so I could tell how they were swelling. I was a farm boy. We thought nothing about undressing. We didn’t know about homosexuals. We talked about women.”

The more the press learns about Ernest Angley’s church, the more damaging the information becomes about the pastor’s disturbing methods. More church members have come forward with stories of the pastor’s abuse, including Angley pressuring a mother into an abortion unless she wanted her child to be “retarded.” Angley also arranged a marriage between a congregant and a convicted child molester and encouraged male members to get vasectomies. Angley explained his motives for this to Dyer, saying, “I wouldn’t want to be brought into this world now.”

“That place is a textbook cult,” said Kenny Montgomery, who was introduced to Angley’s church at age nine. “I’m really scared for my friends and family that still go there.”
