WWE News: Update On Kurt Angle’s Future In Wrestling, Career In Acting Possible?

Kurt Angle’s journey back to the WWE hit a few roadblocks last week. It was initially reported that the WWE offered him a full-time contract but he didn’t accept it due to his yearning for a part-time contract. In Angle’s opinion, his body couldn’t handle a full work schedule in professional wrestling. At the age of 45, that was a wise decision by the Mt. Lebanon, Pennsylvania native.

It is unknown where Angle will end up but it is confirmed that he wants to wrestle for another year. So, that raises the question, where will he wrestle? His contract with TNA will end soon, so that will make Angle a free agent. WrestleZone.com reports a big backstage update on Angle’s future in professional wrestling and why a career in acting is also a possibility.

“According to PWInsider.com, WWE has indeed been negotiating with Kurt Angle, and it was reportedly Triple H who offered Angle a full-time deal to return to WWE. It’s being said WWE is not interested in having Angle return to the company under a part-time contract, and it appears as if Angle turned down the full-time deal as his body is incapable of working that type of schedule.”

“As a result of this, it appears as if TNA will be offering Angle the part-time deal he is looking for, making it likely Angle will re-sign with them for another year.”

“Angle also wants to focus more on his acting future, and will be headed to Los Angeles soon for meetings and auditions.”

That last part is a huge surprise, because the thought of Angle acting in Hollywood is an odd one for sure. Yes, he does great microphone work for the WWE, which can translate to the acting world, but he’s never been in a high-profile movie to show off his acting talents. Regardless, this seems like the least-likely solution for Kurt Angle.

If the WWE isn’t interested in Angle coming in part-time, then he’ll never return. Logic dictates that if Angle can’t work a full-time one, and the WWE isn’t willing to have Angle return under a part-time schedule, then the two are at an impasse. Of course, we’ll never know what truly goes on behind closed doors. However, according to the reports that came out, a return to the WWE is very unlikely.

A probable landing spot for Angle is TNA. They are close to announcing a new television deal, which would give Angle a home on television until he decides to retire. In my opinion, staying in TNA will do nothing for Angle’s career, especially since his career is surrounded by accolades and outstanding achievements.

Angle is truly a role model for younger wrestlers in the amateur world. It will all depend on money and where Angle is willing to go. Money has to be in the discussion but Angle isn’t poor by any stretch of the imagination. The WWE should be where Kurt Angle finishes his illustrious wrestling career. Besides, who wouldn’t want to hear that amazing entrance music one last time?
