Fantasy Island’s Ricardo Montalban Dead at 88

Actor Ricardo Montalban, best known for his role in TV series Fantasy Island has died in Los Angeles aged 88.
Ricardo Montalban started his career in the 1940′s opposite some of the biggest names in Hollywood, including Clark Gable and Lana Turner, but came to world wide fame starring as Mr. Roarke in the television series Fantasy Island from 1977 to 1984. He also played Khan Noonien Singh in both the 1967 Space Seed episode in the first season of Star Trek, and in the 1982 film Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan.
His awards include an Emmy in 1978 and a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Screen Actors Guild in 1993.
Along with acting, Montalban was known for his community role within the Latino community, founding in 1970 the Nosotros Foundation, a nonprofit that aimed to improve the image and increase employment of Latinos in Hollywood.
Montalban died Wednesday morning at his Los Angeles home of complications related to old age.

For your information, my friend Ricardo Montalban died Thursday, January 15, 2009. People will believe it just happened, as it is not labeled as a tribute to him. Shame on you!
