A Horse Walks Into A Police Station, The Police Say…?

So, a horse walks into a British police station, the officer says…? Despite the fact that this sounds like the beginning of a joke, neigh it is not. Though it is not uncommon for police to use horses for assistance, it is quite another thing for a horse to request police assistance. However unbelievable, The Guardian reports that it is in fact what happen early Monday morning at Cheshire Police HQ.

“CCTV captures the moment a horse walks into a Cheshire police station in Winsford early on Monday morning. The animal casually trots into the station. Staff eventually usher the horse back outside.”

According to BBC News, the trusty steed that seemed to be in need of police assistance was from a nearby field. However, at this time, it is unclear of the exact location of his home. The Cheshire police did escort him home, but did not explain what it was that the local resident needed. According to ABC News, the police station superintendent had a rather amusing take on the incident.

“We were somewhat saddled with our unexpected guest, who in the early hours of the morning quickly became the mane event of the night shift. We like to ensure a warm welcome to all our guests at HQ, and at neigh point did the horse pose a risk to security and appeared to be a well cared for animal.”

Though this is certainly an unusual event, it would seem that horses entering human facilities is not as unusual as you might think. According to The Inquisitr, this is not the first time a horse has made its way into a British facility. A horse owner felt that it was perfectly normal to invite her horse into a British McDonald’s for a Big Mac.

“The customer walked up to a drive-thru window on Saturday night when she was told horses were not allowed at the drive-thru window. Not pleased with the fast-food chain’s attempt to keep everyone safe, the customer walked her horse directly inside the store. Once inside the McDonald’s, the horse pooped on the floor.”

Unfortunately for this horse, the owner managed to get them both a hefty fine. So, with horses just waltzing into McDonalds in Britain, is it any wonder that one would simply waltz into a police station? Unfortunately, there is no further information as to what the horse needed, but hopefully it is okay.

Either way, it certainly jump started the police at Cheshire Police Headquarter’s morning.
