‘Terminator Genisys’: Arnold Schwarzenegger Will Be In The Two Planned Sequels?

If Terminator Genisys does not lead to Arnold Schwarzenegger showing up in some shape or form then you just know the fans will be upset. Fortunately, Jai Courtney, who will be playing the character of Kyle Reese, is not just providing hope for the future — he’s providing some hope for Terminator fans.

In a related report by The Inquisitr, the new Terminator Genisys release date may be a year away but already two sequels are being scheduled years into the future.

So far the current rumors surrounding the plot of the Terminator movie certainly seems to say that Arnold Schwarzenegger will be back — again. The story for the entire trilogy is said to involve a T-800 Terminator that conveniently has an aged biological exterior, which would seem to indicate that Schwarzenegger will be making a reprisal for his famed role in the series.

Jai Courtney was also asked if Arnold would be coming back and while he did not confirm a return, his answer does seem to allow for the possibility.

“Hard to imagine a Terminator film without Arnold. I guess we start filming – I think the plan is do the next 2 back to back in 2016.”

This answer fits in with what actor J.K. Simmons had to say about his role in the films. When asking about the other members of the cast, he danced around the issue.

“I found the script to be really much more intelligent and fun and funny and well-rounded and heart-felt. It’s a love story. It’s a really interesting script. I felt I could give too much away by saying that I get to work with all those actors, but people know the characters that they’re playing, so it was a lot of fun and I look forward to sequels to that one,” said Simmons, who then realized he was implying his character would survive through Terminator Genisys. “No, I didn’t say I look forward to being in the sequels. Maybe I was just looking forward to watching the sequels.”

So far it seems the current cast is doing a lot of work to avoid namedropping Arnold Schwarzenegger, but that doesn’t necessarily mean he will have a primary role. According to Screen Rant, Courtney also revealed what he could about the plot for Terminator Genisys.

“What I can say is that we start in a place we’re familiar with from the early films and then, you know, circumstances change. It somewhat shifts the course of events from that point. It’s not necessarily a sequel or a reboot. I don’t even know how you brand it correctly. We’re not remaking one of the early ‘Terminator‘ movies. And it doesn’t necessarily carry on from the point where we left off.”

The actor also revealed they are shooting for a PG-13 rating for the movie.

“I would love to see [‘Terminator: Genisys’] be rated R, but I don’t think it will. I think in this day & age, it’s much more likely to be PG-13. There were no f-bombs. But there’ll be a healthy amount of movie violence.”

What would you think if Arnold Schwarzenegger did not have any role in the Terminator Genisys sequels?
