Brad Pitt Will Not Play Bob Marley

He has played many roles and is considered a versatile actor, but one role that Brad Pitt will not be playing is that of Bob Marley.

The Jamaica Gleaner reported that rumors of Brad Pitt playing the role of Bob Marley in an upcoming film are, in fact, rumors, and the actor has not been approached to cast as the reggae legend.

So what sparked these rumors that had social media abuzz with activity?

According to The Source, a picture of Brad Pitt wearing a dreadlocks has been making the rounds on social networks, fueling claims that the picture indicates Brad Pitt will be playing Bob Marley in an upcoming biopic.

The Huffington Post had revealed that the picture was taken as part of a photo shoot back in 2012, in which he underwent makeovers to look like several celebrities. The photo shoot was done as a tribute to several superstars, Bob Marley being one of them. This was part of a feature interview he did with Interview Magazine.

Pitt posed as Bob Marley, James Dean, and a series of other celebrities, including a retro Hollywood actor for the magazine’s photo shoot.

In that interview, Brad Pitt spoke about how he decides if he wants to be apart of a movie or not.

“I think I’m at a point now where I feel like I can jump into anything and lay something down that’s quality. Someone may be better at it — or maybe not — but I know that if I have a feeling for it, then I can make it interesting. But even more as I get older, it’s about the company that I keep. That’s the most important thing to me — that if I’m gonna spend however long it takes to make a movie, give up 14 hours a day for however many weeks or months, then it’s very important for me to know that I’m working with people who I respect and enjoy and that we’re going for something together. That’s it, really.”

The Inquisitr has reveled that the actor is currently working on an upcoming movie with his wife, Angelina Jolie.

By The Sea, which was written and directed by Jolie, is a relationship drama that Jolie wrote several years ago. The story is centered on a couple with issues who take a vacation in a last-ditch effort to save their marriage.

The role he will play along side Jolie will clearly be a more palatable one for Brad Pitt, as opposed to playing as Bob Marley.
