Ryan Gosling, Eva Mendes’ Baby Name Revealed, The Fans React
As we just reported, Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes baby daughter’s name has finally been revealed! While The Inquisitr reported the couple had given their daughter a family name and suggested the baby might be named after Eva’s mother, the name that the happy couple decided on has a Disney theme.
According to TMZ, Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes’ daughter’s name is Esmeralda Amada Gosling. Of course, the secret was leaked out when the baby’s birth certificate was obtained by TMZ, and then later confirmed by E!.
A source told E! that the two are “both great, but exhausted. They know it’s going to be a little while before the baby adjusts to a schedule.”
As previously reported, Eva’s father Juan Carlos had nothing but support for the new family and spoke highly of Gosling.
“They’re great parents. Ryan’s going to be a great father. He’s just such a down-to-earth, nice guy. You couldn’t ask for anything better. Of course, I’ve held the baby. We went to visit them in the hospital — the whole family was there. We’re a very tight, tight family, and Ryan, his family is the same way — very supportive.”
Even though the couple are very private about their daughter, after all her impending birth wasn’t announced until Mendes’ pregnancy was practically over, but her name wasn’t going to escape outlets for too long.
That said, there may be a very interesting story behind the name Esmeralda Amada Gosling. Most are saying that this might be a homage to Mendes’ role in the 2007 film We Own The Night. In the film she plays a woman named Amada. While this may be a funny coincidence, perhaps it’s not? As for Esmeralda, we really don’t know the story behind that one but Disney made the name popular after The Hunchback of Notre Dame.
When we first reported the news that Eva was expecting, some fans of Gosling’s were devastated — so what do these fans think of Esmeralda’s name? Well, here’s a glimpse of the fan reaction.
Hey girl. Is it just me or did Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes basically name their baby after a Twilight character? http://t.co/KpeL17LVMX
