Selena Gomez is making headlines right now for a couple of reasons.

There’s her alleged split with on-off boyfriend Justin Bieber, seemingly announced by her cryptic tweets and Instagram unfollow last week.

The other, is the 22-year-old’s starlet’s latest film, Rudderless.

Despite a wave of new gossip claims, neither Justin and Selena have confirmed or denied whether their relationship has bitten the dust.

But in a new Entertainment Online interview, Selena’s reply to a question about whether her recent social media posts were about Justin seems to be advising people not to over-analyze her online activity.

“I don’t think about it,” Selena said. “Half the time I don’t really pay attention to it.”

“I might post something that means I’m super excited about something, but I could post a picture of a water bottle and people will think it’s subliminal for something,” she explains.

Good to know.

On Wednesday, October 1, Selena fired off two tweets shortly before unfollowing Justin on Instagram, after returning solo from Paris Fashion Week while he stayed behind.

“Sometimes we think we aren’t good enough. But then I realize when I think I’m alone I have God,” she tweeted on October 1, adding then deleting, “We have to learn the hard way sometimes.”

Inevitably, the starlet’s social media riot act sent the rumor mill into overdrive.

Four days later, Justin Instagrammed a romantic, kissing pic of the pair, along with an alleged caption.

“I hate seeing mean ass comments about the woman I love. We’re young and we argue and fight like every other couple. But we laugh and cry and relate with one another on a different level,” Justin possibly wrote.

He allegedly added, “Who knows what the future holds, but at least don’t fill my timeline with nonsense.”

So, are Jelena done? Rumor has it the fat lady has come, sung and gone.

Our take? Watch that space.

Meanwhile, Selena wowed at Tuesday’s Los Angeles premiere of Rudderless in a crimson Dior mini-dress.

The film is acclaimed actor William H. Macy’s directorial debut. It co-stars his wife Felicity Huffman, Billy Crudup, Anton Yelchin, Laurence Fishburne, Jamie Chung, and others.

In the movie, Gomez plays the girlfriend of student Josh Manning who is killed in a school shooting. His grieving father (Crudup) goes on to find healing by bringing his son’s musical song demos to life with a local band he forms.

Explaining her decision to get involved with the film, Selena told ET,

“[The script] is extremely touching. It’s amazing. And I want to be part of a cast that I can learn from. I think that’s important for me.”

A particular highlight is the moment when Selena sings with musician Ben Kweller on the song “Hold On,” which appears on the movie’s soundtrack.

Rudderless hits U.S. theaters and VOD on October 17.
