‘American Horror Story: Freak Show’ Spoilers: What Can Fans Expect From Season 4?

American Horror Story: Freak Show premieres Wednesday night on FX, and fans are anxious to dive in to this fourth outing of the hit show. As wild as the previous versions have been, co-creator Ryan Murphy touts that this one may well be the most disturbing. What American Horror Story spoilers are available for the new season?

Many cast members are returning for this season, but there are many new faces in the mix as well. TVLine teases American Horror Story: Freak Show spoilers about the season as a whole, and viewers will be anxious to see how it all comes together. It is said that Twisty the Clown will be quite the bad guy, and look for him to be key in Episode 4.

There will be a two-part Halloween episode that heavily features Wes Bentley in the role of Edward Mondrake. That episode will also showcase Jessica Lange singing something by Lana Del Rey. There will be more conflict between Sarah Paulson and Emma Roberts’ characters ahead this season as well.

Murphy teases that the title sequence gives plenty of clues about what lies ahead with Freak Show, so that may be a video fans want to watch multiple times as the season progresses. The groundwork is laid in Wednesday’s premiere for what lies ahead this season, as the synopsis via TV Guide teases that a grim discovery is made by police at a farmhouse.

White Collar star Matt Bomer will show up in Episode 5, and he is said to have quite the encounter with Michael Chiklis’ character. Bomer himself teased that his experience had something of a “demented Tennessee Williams” feel to it, and whatever happens is said to be horrible, dastardly, and “really f***ed up.”

The Hollywood Reporter tries to set the stage for Freak Show. This season takes place in Jupiter, Florida, in 1952. The freak show arrives just as a “dark entity” comes about, and everybody in the town is at risk. The freak show folks will be struggling to survive, and there clearly will be trouble headed their way.

Many potential fans are already freaked out about the fact that a clown is involved, and it doesn’t sound as though this season will do anything to lessen any clown fears. Murphy expects people to be scared and freaked out by the theme, but he’s also hoping that viewers will pick up on messages regarding discrimination and prejudice.

Viewers can expect a similar death rate in this version compared to previous seasons, but this time around, once someone is dead, they’re dead. Murphy is already planning Season 5, though at this point he doesn’t necessarily have Jessica Lange on-board. She initially said she’d be done after Freak Show, but it seems now she’s keeping an open mind. Sarah Paulson should be returning, Murphy says.

Fans are counting down the hours until the Season 4 premiere, and it looks like it’s going to be a very wild ride. American Horror Story: Freak Show airs Wednesday nights on FX, and it sounds as if even fans of clowns may never look at one the same way again after this season.
