Woman Pulls Eye-Popping Prank With Ouija Board…Literally [Video]
The people behind the prank set the scene right — a legitimate storefront offering psychic services, a chalkboard sign offering free Ouija board readings, and an actress with the amazing ability to literally pop her eyes out, resulting in a look of eye-bulging terror while she screams and urges unsuspecting customers to run.
Oh, and someone made up to look like a decaying dead body who pops out of the floorboards at just the right time.
This prank was used to promote the upcoming movie “Ouija” which will be in theaters October 24th. The flick is a horror film, directed by Stiles White and starring Olivia Cooke, Ana Coto and Daren Kagasoff. The plot revolves around the mysterious death of a young girl who records herself playing with an old Ouija board. Afterwards, a group of her close friends decide to investigate the old Ouija board — which apparently leads them to discover that “some things aren’t meant to be played with, especially the ‘other side.'”
Sounds like the perfect movie for the Halloween season.
Ouija boards, which are sometimes referred to as spirit boards or talking boards, are flat boards that are marked with the alphabet, the numbers zero through nine, and the words “yes” and “no.” Some boards have the words “hello” and goodbye,” as well. The boards are also marked with various symbols and graphics. Placing their fingers on a planchette, users attempt to contact spirits in hopes the spirits will move the planchette across the Ouija board, spelling out their messages or answers to questions. Although most people dismiss the Ouija board as a harmless parlor game, a lot of mainstream religions have asked their followers not to use the board, as they associate it with the idea of demonic possession and view the Ouija as a threat to spirituality.
And, of course, “true tales” of terrifying Ouija stories abound. Just last July, it was reported that three people were taken to the hospital because they became “possessed” by evil spirits during a round with the Ouija board. A young woman, her brother and their cousin, who lived in a village in southwest Mexico, were playing with the board when the woman apparently began to growl and thrash around in a reportedly “trance-like” state. Her brother and cousin, meanwhile, claimed they went blind, deaf and began to experience hallucinations. Paramedics were called to the house and all three were taken to the hospital, where they were treated with painkillers, anti-stress medication and eye-drops, which apparently worked.
