Aviva Drescher’s Dad Says Bravo Made A ‘Big Mistake’ When They Fired Her

Aviva Drescher’s father, George Teichner, feels Bravo made a bad decision when they axed her from the series after just two seasons. Although news of Drescher’s firing has yet to be confirmed by Bravo, Teichner spoke out in a new interview, slamming the network for dumping their star player.

“They should have never let Aviva go,” Teichner told Radar Online on Oct. 7. “The ratings were at 2 million, then down to 1.3 million. And the only reason the ratings went up recently is because Aviva threw her leg.”

During the finale episode of The Real Housewives of New York City Season 6, Aviva Drescher got into a fight with the majority of her co-stars, primarily Heather Thompson. After being accused of not being authentic, Drescher, who suffered a devastating farm accident as a child, took off her prostethic leg, slammed it on the table and announced, “The only thing artificial or fake about me is this! Everything else is real! I’m sick of being called fake!”

Teichner continued on, accusing Carole Radziwill of being involved in Drescher’s firing. “The reason Aviva is gone is because of Carole Radziwill’s love affair with Andy Cohen,” he alleged. “He’s doing nothing but making big mistakes. Obviously, Andy Cohen doesn’t know what he’s doing or he’s just played out. He just doesn’t have any balls.”

Early last month, reports of Drescher’s exit from the series first hit the web.

While Aviva Drescher won’t be seen on the upcoming installment of The Real Housewives of New York City, she will soon return to reality TV. “[Aviva Drescher] will be heading to Los Angeles for six weeks to film — along with a celebrity-filled cast — ‘Marriage Boot Camp,’ where relationship experts try to improve the marriages of reality stars,” the NY Daily News reported on Sept. 19. “Her husband Reid, a finance honcho, also will take part, and the duo will live in a house with the other couples and collect a hefty paycheck of $150,000.”

On Marriage Boot Camp, the Dreschers, along with the rest of the cast, will undergo drills and exercises, conducted by husband-and-wife team Jim and Elizabeth Carroll, in an effort to improve their relationship.

“It’s a good paycheck for easy work for Aviva,” an insider told NY Daily News. “And she knows how to create good reality TV.”

Aviva Drescher will be seen on Marriage Boot Camp in early 2015. Other cast members include Heidi Montag, Spencer Pratt, Natalie Nunn, and Jacob Payne.
