The Rock Returns To WWE Monday Night RAW

It was reported earlier today by The Inquisitr that The Rock was spotted in New York City, near the site of tonight’s WWE RAW in Brooklyn, New York. Even though there was heavy speculation that “The People’s Champ” would be appearing in Brooklyn for tonight’s RAW, it still shocked all of the WWE fans in attendance at the Barclays Center.

Most people assumed that The Rock would be back to have a match at WrestleMania 31, and his appearance on WWE RAW tonight could have planted the seed to that match as he interrupted Rusev and Lana’s anti-American promo and “laid the smack-down” on the up-and-coming Bulgarian superstar.

The last time The Rock appeared on a WWE program was in the opening segment of WrestleMania 30 in New Orleans, Louisiana six months ago. Several months later, “The Great One” was interviewed on ESPN’s SportsNation, and not only revealed that before he was injured at WrestleMania 29 in his match with John Cena, the plan was to do a year-long feud with Brock Lesnar that would culminate at WrestleMania 30. To the great joy of every wrestling fan, The Rock added that he would love to have another match at WrestleMania 31.

While Lesnar vs. The Rock is likely off the table for now as Lesnar will likely be facing Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 31 in March. However, it does now look like he could be starting a long, off-and-on program with Rusev that would end at WWE’s super bowl in March.

Some fans may be expecting The Rock to face Rusev at the “Hell In A Cell” pay-per-view later this month or even at the “Survivor Series” pay-per-view next month, but with The Rock’s commitments in Hollywood and his extremely busy schedule, it’s a bit far-fetched to think that he’ll wrestle any time before 2015.

As of right now, a potential Rusev vs. Rock match may not be exactly what fans are clamoring for, especially since it’s possible that “The Most Electrifying Man In Sports-Entertainment” might lose to the up-and-comer. But nevertheless, WWE fans around the world are extremely happy to see The Rock back and doing his thing in a WWE ring.

Are you happy to see The Rock back in WWE? Would you like to see a Rusev vs. Rock match at WrestleMania 31?
