Teresa Giudice’s Daughter Gia’s Incredibly Brave Response To Mom’s Sentencing

Teresa Giudice has been sentenced to 15 months in prison for fraud as Judge Esther Salas announced last Thursday, and her husband, Joe Giudice, will serve 41 months after Teresa completes her own term. Whether you believe the judge was spot on with sentencing Teresa Giudice to jail time or you believe the judge was too harsh, the fact remains that the Giudices’ daughters are certainly innocent victims in the whole matter.

But Teresa’s oldest daughter, Gia Giudice, is putting on a remarkably brave face, despite the fact that both her parents have been sentenced to jail time.

In an exclusive sit-down interview with Andy Cohen on a Watch What Happens Live special airing Monday night, Teresa opens up about how her children are handling the ordeal.

“She was like, ‘It’s going to be okay,'” Teresa tells Andy Cohen, referring to eldest daughter Gia, 13. Giudice added, “She was being strong for me, I could tell… she said the one person she was worried about was me.”

Gia Giudice has, according to Teresa, done her best to reassure her mom that things would be fine at home. In the interview with Cohen, Teresa said, “She said, ‘Mommy, don’t worry about it. I’ll be there. I’ll help Daddy with the girls. That will… prepare me for when I’m a mom.’ Oh my God, my heart broke when she said that.”

Teresa says her biggest concern about her 15-month prison sentence is, of course, not being able to be with her daughters “24/7” the way she always has been able to do. She hinted that her husband has pretty big shoes to fill while she is away, saying, “My husband is a great father, great husband, but I do everything with my daughters. I drive them everywhere. I’m old school. I said to my husband, ‘All you have to do is please take care of our daughters. That’s all I ask. You have to do what I do.'”

After being sentenced on Thursday, in a tearful statement before the court, Teresa had said, “My daughters are my life. I’m more sorry than anyone will ever know. I will make this right no matter what.”

Of course, many will wonder why Teresa Giudice wasn’t as concerned with the welfare of her daughters when committing crimes with her husband.

Teresa will begin serving her sentence on January 5, which will allow her to spend the holidays with Gia and her three other daughters, Audriana, 5, Milania, 8, and Gabriella, 9.
