49ers Bathroom Brawl: Fight At Levi Stadium Leaves One Seriously Injured, Two Arrested

A brawl in a bathroom at the San Francisco 49ers game this weekend left one man seriously hurt and two arrested for felony assault, and the ugly incident was all caught on camera.

Video showed a a group of fans fighting inside a bathroom at the newly opened Levi Stadium in Santa Clara. A 49ers fan wearing a Frank Gore jersey sparked the brawl by sucker punching another fan wearing a Colin Kaepernick jersey. The man was sent sprawling to the floor of the bathroom while others joined in.

Shortly afterward a second man was assaulted, taking several punches.

But by the end of the video, it appeared the man initially hit was seriously injured. Reports indicate that the 49ers bathroom brawl left one person with possible brain damage, but did not identify which person.

There is little context for the 49ers fan brawl, but it did not appear to be the result of any tension between opposing fans. All of those involved were wearing 49ers jerseys.

Video of the Levi Stadium fan brawl has been circulating on social media after being released on Monday morning.

The San Francisco 49ers noted that they have been working with police to investigate the incident.

In an email to ABC 7, 49ers spokesman Roger Hackers wrote, “The 49ers are aware of the incident and have been in close contact with Santa Clara police to assist in any way possible on the matter.”

Police said this is now the second assault to be investigated at Levi Stadium since it opened at the start of the season.

“We’ve had two incidents at the stadium,” said Lt. Kurt Clarke in a phone interview. “One being a domestic violence assault, and now coupled with this assault right now, so we’ve had two assaults, slightly different as far as charges, but assaults they are.”

Two people have been arrested in the 49ers bathroom brawl and are charged with felony assault. Police have not yet named any of the suspects or alleged victims.
