‘Twin Peaks’ Writer To Fans: ‘You Will Not Get Let Down Again’

Fans of the 90s cult classic television series, Twin Peaks, have been hearing rumor after rumor of a possible third season to the short-lived show. Earlier this year, a Twitter account that went by the name Enter the Lodge tweeted an entire, fan-made third season of the show. Fans can read all the posts at the official Enter the Lodge website.

On October 3 at 11:30 a.m., which happens to be the time in which Special Agent Dale Cooper enters the town of Twin Peaks in the series premiere, co-creators David Lynch and Mark Frost simultaneously shared a little tease on their Twitter accounts in relation to their cult classic.

Lynch has been flopping back and forth when it comes to answering the question about Twin Peaks getting a third season. According to the blog Welcome to Twin Peaks, Lynch debunked the rumor in January of this year.

However, at the end of September, the blog site reported that Lynch sounded like he may have something in the works for Twin Peaks fans.

With this tease by both Lynch and Frost, the Welcome to Twin Peaks blog began speculating on what the two have in store. Since the entire series is streaming on Netflix, there is a chance that the company could pick it up and give it another season like they did with Arrested Development and The Killing. After its initial report of the Twitter posts, the blog site had an update about co-producer and writer Harley Peyton having this to say in regards to the rumors.

“You will not get let down again,” Peyton said.

Brad Dukes, author of Reflections: An Oral History of Twin Peaks, also chimed in on his Twitter page about the rumors.

He then added that there will be an announcement soon.

“MONDAY. Hold on to your a**es. Or so I am told,” he posted.

The Twitter page for Dukes’ book posted something similar.

In a related report from The Inquisitr, after years and years of waiting, Lynch released some never-before-seen footage for the prequel, Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me. The new footage comes with the Twin Peaks The Entire Mystery box set, which was released back in July.

So, Twin Peaks fans, what do you think will be the announcement?
