Microsoft announces two Xbox 360 holiday bundles

Right on time to get ahead of the holiday season, Microsoft announced today the two Xbox 360 bundles that will be made available at your retailer(s) of choice.

Naturally Microsoft wants to push that Kinect peripheral, so one of the bundles includes a brand new Xbox 360 with a 250GB hard drive, a Kinect sensor with Kinect Adventures, Carnival Games: Monkey See Monkey Do and a 3-month Xbox Live Gold subscription included.

The second bundle, designed for the core crowd, also offers an Xbox 360 with a 250GB hard drive, but without the Kinect sensor. Instead, you’ll score yourself a copy of Fable III and Halo: Reach with your package and a bonus 3-month Xbox Live Gold subscription.

According to Microsoft, the Kinect bundle has a MSRP of $399.99, and the core bundle with Fable III and Halo: Reach has a MSRP of $299.99. What with all of the sales coming up over the next couple of months, you could possibly get it for even cheaper.

If you don’t already have an Xbox 360 or just need a new one, both packages offer up pretty good deals. The Kinect package’s included games are obviously not going to blow your mind, but Kinect Adventures is a competent Kinect title that, if nothing else, will at least demonstrate some of what can be done with the motion-detecting peripheral.

The bundles are expected to be stocked in by retailers very soon.
