Bethenny Frankel Pajama Pictures Need To Stop, Judge Admonishes

Bethenny Frankel’s pajama picture posted recently on Instagram did not go over well with a judge in court this week. The photo, where the Bethenny Ever After and The Real Housewives of New York star donned her 4-year-old daughter Bryn’s Hello Kitty pajamas, instantly went viral and brought forth a great deal of backlash for Frankel. Now it’s come back at her again with a judge telling her to knock it off.

The New York Daily News reports that Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Ellen Gesmer told Bethenny Frankel’s lawyer Thursday that the RHONY star needed to refrain from posting similar pictures. Though Frankel’s lawyer, Allan Mayefsky, said that it had just been a joke, the judge didn’t find it funny. Apparently the judge’s concerns echoed those shared by many who had been offended by the initial post.

The judge said that Bethenny’s child is not a joke, and she worried that Bryn could see the photo and commentary online for some time to come. Many following the post and backlash criticized Frankel for the photo where she put on Bryn’s pajamas and joked about whether they might be ready to start sharing clothes.

Criticism from many online revolved around the idea that this could set Bryn up for body image issues and that it seemed like Frankel was just trying to get attention. Others pointed out that given Bethenny’s history with an eating disorder, being seemingly proud of fitting into a 4-year-old’s pajamas seemed to send a concerning message.

The admonishment from the judge came during a regularly scheduled monthly meeting. Neither Frankel or her ex-husband, Jason Hoppy, were in the courtroom, though they were both at the courthouse. The parties had been discussing how to value the assets that need to be divided, and it seems the judge felt the pajama issue needed to be addressed.

There has been a lot of buzz this week that Frankel is returning to The Real Housewives of New York for Season 7. However, it’s not clear quite yet just how accurate those reports are. According to Gossip Cop, Frankel is working with Bravo’s Andy Cohen about some projects, but she claims she hasn’t signed any contracts yet. Granted, Bravo tends not to confirm Real Housewives casting scoops any earlier than they absolutely need to, so it wouldn’t come as a surprise if Frankel is returning and those involved are playing coy for now.

Did the judge go too far in admonishing the reality TV star about wearing Bryn’s pajamas? Did people get too worked up in caring about the photo she posted? Whether or not Bethenny Frankel is returning to The Real Housewives of New York, the star continues to make headlines and stir up drama. For now, fans will have to stay tuned to see what she dishes up next.
