Devil May Cry HD Collection officially announced, due out next year

Considering that this news has been preempted by several retailer and ratings board leaks over the past several months, this probably isn’t going to come as much of a surprise: Capcom announced today that a Devil May Cry HD Collection is in the works, and it’s due out next year.

Devil May Cry HD Collection will come packed in with the original Devil May Cry, the less-than-stellar Devil May Cry 2, and the totally awesome Devil May Cry 3 Special Edition for an agreeable $39.99. It will be available on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Like most other ‘HD’ collections, the graphics appear to have improved quite a bit over the original, but you shouldn’t go in expecting graphics on the level of Gears of War 3 or Uncharted 3. Still, going by the screenshots, a few of which you can find at the bottom of the post, the games are looking better than ever.

There’s no word just yet on exactly when Devil May Cry HD Collection is due out, so you’ll have to do with a “next year” for now.

Oh, and before you ask, Capcom didn’t go and dye Dante’s hair black. See for yourself!
