‘The Vampire Diaries’ Nina Dobrev Heading To ‘The Originals’

The Vampire Diaries is gearing up for another season and fans are dying to know what will happen to Elena, aka Nina Dobrev, now that her best friend and the love of her life both are stranded on the other side.

According to the rumor mill, Elena won’t be making too big of a splash in the first few episodes, but according to a previous report by The Inquisitr, Elena will be quite the basket case this season. Since Damon has left the picture, for now at least, The Inquisitr stated that Elena hallucinates about her lost love, who reportedly urges her to move on with her life.

While Elena may not be able to move on in The Vampire Diaries, that doesn’t mean that Nina Dobrev is stuck for the time being. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Nina is headed over to The Originals for a series crossover. Will Elena be making that crossover? Doesn’t look like it; instead, it’s another doppelganger situation.

“There’s a lot of people that could cross over, and when we plan our crossovers, we like to think of the most clever way to integrate The Vampire Diaries mythology into The Originals mythology,” Julie Plec said to E! News. “There was a character’s name introduced a long time ago in season three in association with Klaus [Joseph Morgan] and Elijah [Daniel Gillies] and how they became vampires and a girl that they both loved a long time ago who was the original doppelganger, Tatia.”

According to Hollywood Life, Tatia was first mentioned during season three of The Vampire Diaries, while Rebekah, played by Claire Holt, was explaining that Tatia was “The Original” of the doppelgangers who share Nina Dobrev’s face.

“What we remember from The Vampire Diaries, for those who watch both shows, is that [Klaus and Elijah] both loved her, so it’s a little bit of history repeating itself like with Stefan [Paul Wesley] and Damon [Ian Somerhalder],” continued Plec. “And then Esther [Alice Evans], their mother, killed her so that she could make Klaus not a hybrid. There’s lots of secrets and scandal and romance and terrible tragedy attached to her character. We’ll get to go back into the past to see how that all played out.”

Reports state that Nina will be making her Originals appearance during the fifth episode of the season on Monday, November 3 at 8 p.m. But for those of you who need their Nina fix before then, make sure to check out The Vampire Diaries when it airs this Thursday, October 2 at 8 p.m.
