Jason Derulo On Jordin Sparks: Swears Cheating Was Not Reason For Break-up [Video]
It was shocking to hear the news of the break-up between “Wiggle” singer Jason Derulo and American Idol winner Jordin Sparks. After three years together, the two seemed inseparable. But life can be cruel sometimes, and not all relationships are meant to last forever. That must be the case with Jason and Jordin.
The public and social media can be even more cruel than life sometimes, which is why Jason Derulo is now speaking up to set the record straight. Derulo is less than happy about what he calls rumors and lies regarding infidelity in his relationship with Jordin.
ABC Newsreports that Derulo, after remaining somewhat quiet on this private matter, and wanting to keep his break-up with Jordin on a personal level, felt compelled to quash the “bogus and irresponsible lies being reported by insensitive media outlets.”
“I spent three great years with Jordin and she is one of the most amazing people that I have ever met. But as in all relationships there are ups and downs and at this time we have decided to amicably part. Infidelity, cheating or deceit played no part in our relationship or our break-up, and I hope that people respect our privacy as we move forward with our lives.”
Derulo and Sparks have always been outwardly affectionate with one another, and weren’t ashamed to share that with the world. Us Magazine reveals that on Valentine’s Day, Derulo surprised Jordin with 10,000 orange roses — her favorite color.
Jason was also forthcoming with how serious he was about Jordin. The Daily Mail reports Jason discussing his beautiful song, “Marry Me,” which he says he wrote to assure his girlfriend, Jordin, that a proposal was on its way.
“It is about Jordin, actually. And it’s talking about how amazing it will be when I get down on one knee and it will be the greatest moment of my life. You can’t fake anything because true love is true love, and that’s the basis of our relationship.”
The last time fans saw Jason Derulo and Jordin Sparks together was on August 24 at the MTV Video Music Awards as they walked the red carpet with their arm around one another. An eyewitness told the Daily Mail exactly how affectionate Jason and Jordin were to each other.
“They were loving each other’s company as they sat in the front row and danced together.”
It seemed as though all was right in their world. And Jason has always spoken to highly of Jordin, as reported by ABC News.
“She’s just the sweetest, always thinking about others before she thinks about herself. Super charitable. We’re such opposites, like, just polar, and I think that’s what works.”
Maybe being “such opposites” took its toll on the relationship, and didn’t actually make it work at all.
Anyone can speculate what could have happened to end their relationship, but only Jason and Jordin know the whole truth. E! Online reports that the break-up was amicable and that Jason and Jordin still care “very deeply for each other and will remain in each other’s lives as friends.”
