Gretchen Rossi Desperate For Baby, Pregnancy More Important Than Marriage

Gretchen Rossi desperately wants to get pregnant and she’s willing to put her wedding on hold to do so. Radar Online reports that the former Real Housewives of Orange County star wants to have a baby with her fiance, Slade Smiley, so badly that she’s pushing off her plans to get married so she can focus on getting pregnant.

Not only does Gretchen want to get pregnant, she’s rumored to be pitching her story to any television network that will create a reality series about her attempts to have Slade’s baby. So far, Bravo has shown zero interest in creating a show based on Gretchen trying to make a baby, but she reportedly landed an appearance on an upcoming episode of The Doctors.

Radar reports that Rossi is considering in vitro fertilization because she is concerned about genetics and cancer. Slade’s son from a previous relationship, Grayson Arroyo-Smiley, was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor in 2006 when he turned six-years-old.

Gretchen revealed in June that Smiley had a vasectomy due to his fears of having another child with cancer, but told OK Magazine that Slade is planning on getting a reversal so they can start trying to have a baby.

“We’re working really hard right now to have a baby. He actually has a vasectomy so he has to get a reversal and we have to kind of figure that all out. We are taking the steps to try to have a baby.”

Why does Rossi, who recently appeared on Marriage Boot Camp with Smiley, want to document her baby-making quest on TV? Perhaps because there would be a paycheck involved. It is not known if Slade has a steady income or Gretchen for that matter, and she probably doesn’t want to get further in the financial hole if she does end up getting pregnant.

Slade reportedly still owes more than $100,000 in child support to the mother of his son, a debt he was arrested for back in 2009. If Gretchen ends up having his baby and he leaves her, she could end up fending for herself financially.
