Zsa Zsa Gabor Recovering Following “Successful” Surgery

Following news that Zsa Zsa Gabor was in critical condition after being rushed to the hospital on Saturday, the 94-year-old actress is set to return home soon after undergoing successful surgery in Los Angeles, confirmed her husband, Prince Frederic von Anhalt.

According to Anhalt, doctors at UCLA Ronald Reagan Medical Center successfully reattached a tube in Gabor’s stomach that had slipped out of place – due to infection – and led to bleeding. The surgery reportedly lasted about 1 1/2 hours.

Over the past several years, Gabor has suffered a string of major medical problems. Last year, the actor had to undergo hip replacement surgery after breaking her hip, and has required fairly frequent hospital visits ever since due to complications from the surgery.

More recently, Gabor had most of her right leg amputated due to an infection and very poor circulation in the leg, which doctors feared may have cost her life if left unattended.

In May of this year, the actress had to undergo emergency surgery on her stomach after doctors noticed a major stomach infection, 24 hours after she was treated for pneumonia-related symptoms.

According to the actress’ spokesman, Gabor should be able to return between late Monday or Tuesday “at the latest”.
