Fort Bliss Soldier Beat 2-Year-Old Daughter To Death For Soiling Diaper

Three people have been arrested and charged with the brutal murder of a 2-year-old El Paso girl, who was allegedly beaten to death for soiling her diaper by her father, a soldier based at Fort Bliss.

It was initially El Paso Fire Fighters who arrived at the residence at 4011 Alabama, around 4:50 p.m. Saturday who found the young child unresponsive. She was taken to El Paso Children’s Hospital by the El Paso Fire Department just before 6 p.m. Police arrived at the hospital only after the child had tragically died.

As the injuries to the child appeared to be of a suspicious nature, Crimes Against Persons took over the investigation and found that Robert Franklin, a cousin who was at the house, heard the beating and saw the victim’s father, Dartarious Graham exit the room with the girl in his arms.

When the cousins saw the victim go limp they contacted emergency services, requesting medical assistance.

KVIA.com reported that even though the girl’s mother, 23-year-old Elizabeth Graham, was not at the house when the beating took place, investigators have learned that her husband had a history of beating the child. Because she failed to protect her daughter and report the prior abuse, she was also arrested.

Dartarious Graham was charged at the El Paso County Detention Facility with capital murder. His bail was set at $250,000. Robert Franklin and Elizabeth Graham were also booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility on the charge of Injury to a Child by Omission.

In a press release about the horrific case, police said, “Dartarious Graham became upset that his daughter had soiled her diaper and began to beat the child with a belt while he and the victim were in the child’s bedroom,” police said in a release.

The name of the 2-year-old girl has been withheld for legal reasons.
