David Hasselhoff Has ‘Cool Guy’ Justin Bieber’s Back After Music Video Collab

David Hasselhoff has only good things to say about Justin Bieber, and recently praised the beloved and hated singer as a “cool guy.”

Yes. The Hoff is showing the Biebs some major love after working on a music video shoot at a secret Los Angeles location over the weekend with the Canadian star and his current writing partner, Australian teen idol Cody Simpson.

The shoot which includes The Hoff appears to have been directed by Emil Nava, although Justin, 20, and Cody, 17, shot a music video directed by legendary helmer Wayne Isham, 56 — (Van Halen’s “Jump”), Michael Jackson’s (“You Are Not Alone”), The Rolling Stones (“A Rock and a Hard Place”) – that same weekend most likely to support the imminent first single from the pair’s November-dropping duets album.

“We had a lot of fun, and he’s a cool guy,” Hasselhoff, 62, told PEOPLE magazine. “You’ll hear more about it, but we’re just keeping it quiet because it’s really a cool video, and we had a blast.”

The desire for secrecy about the video was undoubtedly the reason behind the Baywatch yesteryear leading man’s deletion of a tweet he sent to Bieber and Simpson on Monday.

It previously read: “What a great day @CodySimpson @justinbieber Emile our director for new video… signing t shirts for charity! RESPECT!”

An attached snap showed the boys, The Hoff and Nava hamming for the camera, after the older star signed a T-shirt for a charity.

The U.K.’s Mirror was the first to scoop Hasselhoff’s video team-up with Justin and Cody.

The paper reported an on-set source said the veteran was invited by the Biebs to guest in the music video, “because Justin is a huge fan of The Hoff, he thinks he’s a legend.”

The same source also claimed 40 dogs were to be used in some scenes with David, which doesn’t sound nearly so outlandish after a gander at this:

PEOPLE linked a tweet purporting to be from the verified Justin Bieber Twitter account, which appeared to confirm Hasselhoff’s collaboration.

However, that account is not verified and is a random fan account.

Hasselhoff and Bieber bonded last year after rough rides in the press. In their November Twitter exchange, the younger star bemoaned fake stories, while The Hoff took issue with a reporter’s claim that he’d posed naked with cheese.

Of the “Confident” singer’s current anti-hero status in U.S. pop culture, the been-there-done-it Hoff was sanguine.

“We’re all young once, but you know what? Live it up, baby! You’ll pay the price later, but you’re only young once. Live it up, and don’t care what anybody says. Live it up!”

Honestly, we’re keen to take a look-listen to this music video. Hopefully, Hasselhoff hasn’t turned it into corn central, as there’s genuine buzz among Simpson and Bieber’s fans and curiosity among the rest for the duo’s upcoming debut single and acoustic album.
