The Muppets Occupy Sesame Street

The Occupy Wall Street movement has been spreading across the United States for the last month. Starting in New York City’s financial district, the Occupy Wall Street movement has spread to just about every major city in the United States. From Chicago, to Los Angeles, to Houston, and now, sadly, to Sesame Street. Yes, the Muppets have decided to Occupy Sesame Street.

The perfectly photo-shopped images were created by the website Tauntr to help get kids interested in the movement. I mean, who cares if a hippy gets maced? But attack Big Bird…

Tauntr writes:

“Occupy Wall Street is a major movement both on the streets and on the web, but it isn’t getting the media attention it deserves. Why? Because it doesn’t resonate with kids… Which is why we here at Tauntr have envisioned the perfect revolution. Don’t Occupy Wall Street. Occupy Sesame Street.”

The Occupy Wall Street movement has seen support from celebrities like Tim Robbins and Susan Sarandon. Billionaire George Soros said that he empathized with the protesters. President Obama even acknowledged the protesters at a recent press conference. And now that the Wall Street protesters have the muppets’ support, it doesn’t look like there is anything that can stop this movement.
