‘The Vampire Diaries’ Season 6 Spoilers: Hot New Romances Ahead

Fans of The Vampire Diaries are waiting for the premiere of Season 6. The premiere episode, titled “I’ll Remember,” is less than two weeks away, and CW teased fans with what they can look forward to when the new season premieres. The CW Television Facebook page shared the first official Vampire Diaries promo poster earlier this week, and it teased just a bit about where the plot will take the residents of Mystic Falls.

At the end of Season 5 of The Vampire Diaries, Bonnie and Damon vanished when the other side blinked out of existence, but both Bonnie and Damon are back for Season 6. Kat Graham and Ian Somerhalder are featured in the new poster, and they are seen getting close. A romance between the two characters would be out of left field, but many would think the same for a rekindling of the romance between Stefan and Elena.

Damon will not be with Elena at the start of the new season, and she will not handle the loss well. She will lean on Stefan, and this will cause problems for Caroline. A new love triangle is in the works for the series, and it will have Stefan stuck between Elena and Caroline. This means that the romance between Caroline and Tyler is definitely over. A new clip for The Vampire Diaries season premiere released by the CW TVD Twitter shows Tyler poking fun at Liv during Alaric’s new class. He moved on from teaching at Mystic Falls High School, and he is now teaching a new course on the occult at Whitmore College.

Check out this new clip from “I’ll Remember” to see if you can picture a new romance for Tyler with witchy Liv.

The synopsis for the season 6 premiere offers even more clues.

“After spending the past four months coping with the loss of Damon (Ian Somerhalder) in an unconventional and potentially dangerous way, Elena (Nina Dobrev) has returned to Whitmore College for the start of sophomore year. Unable to move on, Caroline (Candice Accola) is desperate to find a way to reverse the anti-magic spell the Travelers have put over Mystic Falls and grows frustrated when her calls to Stefan (Paul Wesley) go unanswered. Tyler (Michael Trevino), who is human once again, has a run-in at a football tailgate that tests his ability to control his anger, while Matt (Zach Roerig) worries that Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) is dealing with the loss of Bonnie (Kat Graham) in a self-destructive way. Alaric (Matt Davis), who is struggling to adjust to his new life as a vampire, finds himself in an awkward situation when he meets Jo (guest star Jodi Lyn O’Keefe), a beautiful doctor at the university hospital. Last, while everyone believes Stefan is off tracking a lead to get Damon and Bonnie back, Elena is shocked when she learns the truth of what he has really been up to.”

With Damon and Bonnie in limbo to start off Season 6, fans are wondering how the pair will reunite with their friends. The new poster does give another clue about that. The tag line on the Vampire Diaries poster is “All spell breaks loose.” Could a witch’s spell bring back Damon and Bonnie from the other side? There has been speculation about Caroline sacrificing herself to bring Damon and Bonnie back. The poster shows her crawling on the ground.

The return of Damon and Bonnie is not all the group from Mystic Falls will deal with this season. Julie Plec teased to Entertainment Weekly about the arrival of a new villain for Season 6 of The Vampire Diaries. This villain will “break the mold” created by their previous villains.

The cast has been back at work on the Vampire Diaries set, but there are rumors of trouble between Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev. The couple broke things off before the start of Season 5, and both have moved on to new romances. Ian started dating Nikki Reed over the summer, and the romance is causing problems for Nina. The Inquisitr previously reported that the actress might leave the CW series to get away from Ian. However, this could be the final season for the series. Would she leave the series so close to its end?

Are you ready for the return of The Vampire Diaries to CW? The new season premieres on October 2.
