Did Angelina Jolie Give Anne Hathaway a “Death Stare”– Twice?

Angelina Jolie
Angelina Jolie just can’t catch a break! First it was her shocking appearance on the red carpet, and now people are buzzing that Angie was staring jealously at Anne Hathaway when she gave her acceptance speech onstage at the the Critics’ Choice Awards.

The drama is sort of nice after an overload of Perez’s non-stop “Saint Angie” stuff, but it’s up to you to decide whether or not Angelina deserved the criticism. The video of Anne’s speech is below; 1:10, 1:40, and 3:42 are the critical points of potential Angelina staring moments. Stink eye/death stare or just make-believe drama?

If we’re going to tally votes, E! says stink eye, claiming that “While Anne stuttered through a rambling acceptance speech highlighting her fellow “celluloid sisters” (which is a considerable improvement from her “process metaphysics” lecture earlier this week), Angelina made no attempt to hide her disdain, and we love her for it.” FOX, on the other hand, says “steamed.” Same difference.

  1. The critics should keave Angelina alone. If she is not there, Angelina and Brad are just there to enjoy their night out.

  2. Do you really think Angelina Jolie cares? Please…. the woman has it all…

It is a shame however, that a great performance was ignored for one that was just a piece of fluff.

  3. If anything she wasn't steamed or jealous. That was very insulting of Anne to say that about the other actresses in the room. Even if that is you opinion you don't openly insult a room full of actresses that work just as hars as any other.

  4. why is that considered a death stare? she is just clapping like everyone else….why is everyone always on her case just cuz ya'll are jealous of her

  5. Anne did not insult anyone. Celluloid refers to movies as in one who is in movies!!!!

  6. Can't stand Anne Hathaway. She reminds me of cotton candy: sickly sweet and makes me want to puke.

  7. AH is her friend, why would she be jealous of her. She supported Angie when she did her documentary “One moment in Time” somewhere in Africa. She was later seen chatting and laughing with her. Shame on those critics who try to twist it and present Angie in a negative way. She has won all these awards and some twice over and at a very young age, if she doesn't win now I'm sure it will not be a big deal to her. There are a lot of actors and actresses who were nominated and did not win, still it is Angie who has won everything before that get picked on like it is the worst thing that could happen to anyone. The jealousy directed at Angie is breathtaking —– Why? because she is gorgeous, talented, an accomplished actress, young and has Brad by her side. Hw is a disgusting place to be indeed, everybody trying to stab you in the back. Without Angie and Brad their award gatherings will be very boring, a lot of people tune in just because of the couple. I watch it because of them.

  8. There was NO stink eye/death stare action going on. Everyone secretly desires to win, but Angelina was patiently sitting through another award speech. Angelina is quite expressive in her features and of course everyone can tell when she is happy in life and when not to approach her w/ inane questions; or when sitting through a long-winded speech. She does not hide who she is. This is definitely not news, and whoever started this chain reaction of tabloid fodder should be ashamed.

  9. It's nice to see positive comments on this blog – I am both an AJ and AH fan – saw all 3 points of the video and it is definitely make-believe drama, RIDICULOUS. I thought Anne was understandably nervous, a bit surprised, and genuine in her appreciation for the other actresses in her company. Watching Angie, she did not look to be jealous, AT ALL. If anything, she looked to be holding back tears for Anne, as I'm sure she remembers the experience of what it was like to win her first awards as well. IMO she seemed genuinely touched by Anne's speech, especially when Anne mentioned the love of her father – Angie has had a colorful life, as have many of us; hers is just publicized obviously. She and Brad are two of the most generous actors we have today and are making a tremendous difference in the lives of countless children (not to mention their own).

  10. They were engaging in pleasant cocktail conversation at the Golden Globes. I doubt she was telling Hathaway to go to hell. And I doubt that if Jolie hated here, she would be talking to her.

  11. And one more thing: It's a people's choice award. Do we really think she even cares?
