Duchess Of Cambridge Ill: Doctor Making House Calls, Caring For Pregnant Kate Middleton

The Duchess of Cambridge is pregnant with her second child and is suffering from severe morning sickness as a result. Kate Middleton is in her first trimester and is experiencing similar side effects as she had when she was pregnant with Prince George. According to Radar Online, Duchess Kate has been looked after by a doctor who comes to her home to check up on her. It was Kate’s doctor, in fact, who advised her to cancel her trip to Malta in order to stay home and rest.

“Her decision not to travel was taken by the Duke and the Duchess on the advice of the Duchess’ doctors, and she is being treated at Kensington Palace,” a Kensington Palace spokesperson told Radar Online.

The Duchess of Cambridge has hyperemesis gravidarum — which is characterized by intractable nausea, vomiting, and dehydration. The last time Kate was pregnant, she was taken to a public hospital for treatment. This time around, she and Prince William have decided that it would be best for her to be treated at home.

There could be multiple reasons for this decision, but two immediately come to mind. For starters, Kate now has a toddler. It’s probably much easier for her to be home with Prince George, even if she can’t do much. As previously reported by The Inquisitr, Kate’s mom, Carole, has been staying with her, helping out with George and what-not.

As Radar Online points out, Kate may also have chosen to receive treatment at home because of what happened the last time she was in the hospital. If you remember, someone pulled a prank on a nurse at the facility and the nurse ended up giving out some information about the Duchess. The nurse was so embarrassed after the incident that she committed suicide.

The Duchess of Cambridge has a good support system and is being very well cared for. According to Hello Magazine, Kate’s husband William actually went to Malta in his wife’s place. The 32-year-old apologized on Kate’s behalf, and told people that Kate was doing “so-so.” William will be in Malta for the remainder of the weekend and then will likely head home to see his wife and spend some time with his 1-year-old son.

There has been no word on whether or not Kate is having a boy or a girl — but the royal couple likely won’t find out — or, if they do, they won’t announce it to the world. Betting has already started. Do you think William and Kate will have a boy or a girl?
