Amy Adams In ‘Big Eyes’: First Trailer Sparks Oscar Talk

It may surprise some to realize that Amy Adams (Man of Steel, American Hustle) has five-Oscar nominations and the talk is that she may be headed for another one, following the release of the Big Eyes trailer.

In the Tim Burton biopic, Adams plays famous painter Margaret Keane, whose husband — played by Christoph Waltz (Django Unchained) — claimed credit for her work and became very wealthy for it. Keane was incredibly successful in the 1950s, but later on faced legal problems because of the duplicity.

Amy Adams — who is currently filming the Man of Steel sequel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, in which she plays intrepid reporter Lois Lane — has quite an eclectic filmography. The red-head has taken on a variety of interesting roles in her career and is considered one of the most talented American actresses.

The very busy Adams has taken on weak and strong women in her remarkable career. Some of her most famous movies include Enchanted, a fairytale that collides with modern times; the David O. Russell drama The Fighter, also starring Bale and Mark Wahlberg; The Muppets, and Her, among others.

The 40-year-old was most recently nominated for a Best Supporting Oscar for her role as Sydney Prosser, the seductress partner of con artist Irving Rosenfeld (Christian Bale) in American Hustle. Many are suggesting that Adam’s role in Big Eyes could finally lead her to a much deserved Academy Award.

The much anticipated and talked about first trailer for Big Eyes, shows a blonde bombshell-type Amy Adams taking charge of her life, after she begins to assert herself. Margaret Keane became renowned for paining children with big eyes, before she met her husband.

The resentment in the marriage grows, because of how repressed she feels, as her paintings become more popular and the couple starts making more money. Big Eyes is brought to us by The Weinstein Company and is set for release on December 25.

Amy Adams stars alongside Waltz, Jason Schwartzman, Krysten Ritter, Danny Huston, and Terence Stamp in one of the most anticipated films of 2014. The release of the first trailer is centered on Adams, however, the Burton has created a film that is already being talked about as a strong Oscar contender in the upcoming season.
