Amber Marchese On Cancer Diagnosis: ‘I Guess I Was Arrogant’

The Real Housewives of New Jersey star Amber Marchese may be a new housewife to the show, but she has made quite the impression on viewers. Not only is she a former friend of current housewife, Melissa Gorga, but she also had quite the story to tell. Her husband, Jim Marchese, works with the prosecutor’s office going after Teresa Giudice, and Amber herself has battled breast cancer.

On the first episode, Amber Marchese revealed that she had been diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer five years prior, when her children were very young. She admits to being very scared, but at the time of filming, Amber was more interested in hearing why Melissa had not been there for her as a friend.

According to a new Bravo report, The Real Housewives of New Jersey star Amber Marchese is now reflecting on her breast cancer diagnosis as her five-year results came back inconclusive on the previous episode of the show. Amber admits that maybe she wasn’t realistic at the time she got her diagnosis.

“Being diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer at a young age when my babies were little made that fear a real possibility. And it came out of nowhere and hit me like a ton of bricks. I just never thought it was possible for me, I guess I was arrogant,” Amber reveals.

Marchese adds she was fighting for her life while trying to stay as normal as possible for her children. Amber tries to connect her struggle with cancer to Teresa Giudice’s legal troubles in hopes of explaining why she was so aggressive on the phone call. She adds that in both cases, both women could have lost their children.

“Another reason for my overly sensitive reactions to Teresa is that I am familiar with these types of cases due to Jim’s line of work. I did not want to place judgment on Teresa. I wanted to know where she stood so we could move on with our friendship. It was very difficult for me to separate my own personal experience while watching a friend deal with a similar situation,” Marchese adds.

But Teresa wasn’t thrilled about her approach. During the phone conversation, Teresa did tell Amber to be quiet and stop asking so many personal questions. According to The Inquisitr, Melissa Gorga has also expressed her dislike for Amber’s aggressive approach. Perhaps Gorga feels that it is in bad taste for Marchese to be so snoopy due to Jim’s involvement with the prosecutor.
