‘Star Wars’ Vs ‘Batman V Superman’ Continues With New Video From J.J. Abrams

Two of the biggest blockbusters being filmed right now, Star Wars Episode VII and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice have a little Twitter game going on now. Directors J.J. Abrams and Zack Snyder, respectively, have been posting some amazing mash-up photos and on Thursday fans got their first video, courtesy of Abrams.

Now, before you get too excited, we have to warn you that there isn’t anything that reveals the movie plot in this new clip, shared by Abrams’ production company, Bad Robot, on Twitter. However, the 36-second clip, titled Hunka Junk is listening to that Star Wars theme song and seeing the cool footage.

As the image zooms into the aging Star Wars spaceship, Abrams reveals a very beat up Batmobile from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (remember it was reported “stolen”). Fanboys rejoice. If this isn’t the coolest “war” going on here, then we don’t know what is.

The aircraft appears to be outdoors, (maybe in the location recently revealed in those aerial photos) and looks quite beat up, but we get the best look yet at what we may be seeing come next December 18, 2015, when Star Wars Episode VII comes to your nearest theater. Abrams also added a mix-up of both films’ scores.

This little game Abrams and Snyder have going on, started when the latter posted a photo of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice actor Henry Cavill (Superman) dressed in what looked to be a Star Wars costume, holding a lightsaber, back in July. Snyder captioned his photo “SuperJedi.” Get it?

On August 2, another mashup photo emerged from Snyder, in which we spot Batman, this time hanging out with one of the classic characters in Star Wars, R2 D2. The robot is Luke Skywalker’s loyal droid and has a critical role to play in defeating the Evil Empire.

Abrams took notice and finally responded with this photo that shows C3PO — wearing a black cape — lurking in Gotham City.

Finally, last week, the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice director created a “scene,” which he shared on September 12. Snyder captions this shot as “Case Closed” and it depicts the arrest of a Star Wars Stormtrooper for stealing the Batmobile.

The game between Abrams and Snyder is all movie nerds are talking about and is leading to all sorts of speculation about what will Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice director come up with next and when does it end.
