McDonald’s Is Giving Away Free McCafe Coffee For Two Weeks

A good McMorning is awaiting anyone and everyone who visits McDonald’s for the next two weeks. Why? Each customer receives a free small McCafe coffee. Yes, from now until September 29, which is actually National Coffee Day, you can order up your McCafe coffee during breakfast hours, and not have to pay a McPenny!

This is the second time this year that McDonald’s has given away free coffee to their customers. The last time was earlier this year in March. McDonald’s acknowledged to Time that during it’s last first time ever coffee freebie promotion, “the company gave away millions of cups of free coffee during the two-week period.”

That’s a lot of coffee!

Now that fall is upon us, and schedules are changing yet again with school starting back, it is the perfect time to start new routines.

McDonald’s is hoping that with the hustle and bustle of the morning rush that families will find it easier to grab their coffee and go at McDonald’s.

CBS reports Greg Watson, senior vice president of McDonald’s U.S. Menu Innovation, revealed their logic.

“We know our guests are busy, especially during the morning, and a free cup of coffee goes a long way in helping get their days started. That’s why we want to treat customers once again so they can taste for themselves just how great their mornings can be with a cup of McCafé coffee and freshly made breakfast.”

Time reports that this free coffee giveaway comes during a time that fast food chains seem to be fighting for breakfast customers. Although McDonald’s is doing a very nice thing for their customers to show their appreciation for their business over the years, Time reveals that there may be underlying goals involved in the free coffee promotion. One being the hope that customers will not just come by for their small cup of free coffee, but will also purchase other breakfast menu items, as well.

In addition, McDonald’s may be hoping that as people stop by for their daily free cup of McCafe coffee, that it will become a routine over the next two weeks that will continue once the promotion has run its course.

Regardless, coffee drinkers will appreciate that extra wake up benefit along with the boost of caffeine to get our day started. CBS reminds us that included in the McCafe signature blend coffee are iced coffees and expresso-based drinks.
