Neymar Returns From Injury To Inspire Barcelona To Victory With Two Late Goals

Barcelona are still unbeaten this season, but only after Neymar returned from injury to score two late goals against a stubborn Atletico Bilbao side.

This was only the Brazilian forward’s second game of the season since he was injured in the World Cup quarter final against Colombia. Neymar jolted off the bench in the 63rd minute as a lackluster Barcelona struggled to breakdown their opponents.

However after picking up a neat Lionel Messi pass, Neymar final broke the deadlock with a cool finish in the 79th minute. Then, just five minutes later, he picked up his and Barcelona’s second goal with a tap-in after more great work from his Argentinian counterpart.

After the game, not only did Enrique praise his team for limiting Bilbao to “few chances,” he also outlined how his side will win more honors over the course of the season.

“In order to win trophies this season we have to be consistent in attack, which should be easier with the forwards we have, and in defence, which is more difficult.”

Enrique was encouraged by the fact that Barcelona were able to restrict Bilbao’s play, and his words clearly showed how much respect that he has for his opponents.

“They hardly generated any danger and you have to play well as a team to achieve that,” he noted.

Enrique also believes that his players “are starting to enjoy themselves,” while he then heaped praise onto Neymar’s shoulders for his efforts that won the game for Barcelona.

“Neymar had the chance to show how effective he can be thanks to the assists from Leo. I liked the attitude in both attack and defence shown by all the players,” he declared.

The former Spanish international made sure to also praise the Argentinian forward, going on to proclaim that Messi is the best player in the world, before explaining that he possesses this accolade not just because of his goals.

“Messi is not just the best player in the world because of the goals he scores, but also because of his assists,” he explained. “He’s a player who can only be praised. He does things that most people can only dream about. I’m delighted he wants to be the best in the world in attack but also in defence.”

Who do you think is better between Neymar and Messi? Do you think that Barcelona will beat Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid to win La Liga this season?
