Man Feeds Dog To Girlfriend, She Finds Pomeranian’s Dog Paws On Front Doorstep

A man feeds a dog of his girlfriend as a sick form of revenge immediately after reconciling. The Sacramento Bee reports that suspect Ryan Eddy Watenpaugh of Palo Cedro allegedly killed and served up the dog as dinner for his ex.

Watenpaugh denies killing or cooking the woman’s Pomeranian, but admits to putting dog paws on her doorstep after leaving her a creepy note.

The woman, whose name hasn’t been released, reported that she was being stalked by Watenpaugh. He had attacked her many times, leaving her with bruises and cuts. She was held captive twice by the man she’d dated for many months.

When she had a heated argument with Watenpaugh August 4, she left the apartment. When she returned, he was gone, and so was her dog, Bear.

During the first week of September, police say the couple reconciled. Watenpaugh wrote her a note on Sunday, asking how her dog tasted.

Police say they separated, but the man kept sending his ex-girlfriend’s texts — telling her what he planned to do with the dog’s remains.

Watenpaugh’s ex-girlfriend told police that she heard a truck pull up around 1 a.m. Tuesday and saw Watenpaugh walk to her front door and place something on the doorstep. When she investigated what he’d left her, she found two dog paws in a bag she believed belonged to Bear.

The man denies that he killed and cooked his ex’s Pomeranian, but he fessed up about placing dog paws on her doorstep in a bag.

KRCR 7 reports that the 34-year-old suspect was arrested Thursday by Redding police around 6 p.m. at a traffic stop on the 8000 block of Silver Bridge Road in Palo Cedro. He’s booked at Shasta County Jail on $250,000 bail on charges of domestic violence, false imprisonment, stalking, and animal cruelty. Officials hope to press further charges for weapons violations after finding an AK-47 assault rifle with multiple magazines after a search of his home.

This is a traumatic crime for a pet owner. Abusers sometimes target what their victims care deeply about. Sadly, in a lot of cases, it tends to be animals.

Another story similar to this was written by The Inquisitr when a man high on bath salts killed and ate the family dog. It was a disturbing incident that happened back in 2012. After attacking several family members, the man turned on the family dog, killing and eating it.
