Lil’ Kim And Iggy Azalea Join Forces in Female Rap Game Battle With New Track

Lil’ Kim and Iggy Azalea have been no strangers to rap-game beef. Both of them have fought with spitfire Azealia Banks, Lil’ Kim and Nicki Minaj openly hate each other, and Iggy seems to add a new hater to her list every day. But Azalea and Lil’ Kim are rising above that to do a track together, according to a recent interview on Revolt.

“Iggy is my girl. Her and I and T.I. are doing a track together. I don’t know if it’s gonna be for my album… We have other plans for it as well. I think we’re gonna do a double package type thing.”

Other than hitching a ride on Iggy’s superfame at the moment, Lil’ Kim also has a few more tricks up her sleeve this year. Her much-anticipated mixtape Hard Core 2X14 was released yesterday at 9:11 p.m. in honor of the anniversary of the World Trade Center tragedy. Just before the mixtape dropped, she released a tease track of her teaming up with Jadakiss on the mixtape.

Even though Lil’ Kim’s star has definitely lost some shine since she ruled the female rap roost in the ’90s before the Azalea and Minaj era, she comes out for blood on the new track.

“Lil’ Kim, the one they all love and hate / The Queen’s back bitches, regurgitate / I got these hos real sick like a stomach ache.”

But that’s not to say that Lil’ Kim doesn’t think she’s changed in the Iggy days. In her interview with Revolt, Lil’ Kim revealed that her daughter has had a radical impact on the way she makes music as well as the way that she lives her life.

“I don’t feel the need to change up my style or change the things that I used to rap about. I definitely have more to rap about… I think motherhood has made me a better person a better artist and I think motherhood has just made me not give a f**k… Everything I do is for [Royal Reign].”

That’s not to say that Lil’ Kim has gone too soft, even though Azalea has shown that girls in Clueless outfits might be more appealing to the masses than the rough rap that Lil’ Kim used to spin out. Lil’ Kim still maintains that she, like the name of a track on her new mixtape, is a “Trendsetter.”

“‘Trendsetter’ represents the evolved me, because that’s basically who I am. I’ve been a trendsetter since I walked into this industry. It’s a great thing to have people follow me and want to dress like me and want to be like me, that’s the most rewarding thing about being in the industry.”
