UFO Destroys Wind Turbine

ufo-wind-turbine

A wind turbine in England has been destroyed, and one of it’s 65 foot long blades is missing in a strange case locals are blaming on UFO’s.

Locals started reporting strange “flashing orangey-yellow spheres over Lincolnshire” the evening before the mystery destruction. Then at 4am, locals heard a “massive bang” and reported lights in the vicinity of the noise. By dawn, what you see in the above picture was what remained, and the missing blade on the wind turbine was no where to be found.

Just for good measure, some locals claim the UFO’s had arms like an Octopus!

According to The Sun, local authorities can’t explain what occurred with the wind turbine. Health and safety officials said even the strongest gale could not have caused the damage and are calling it a “unique incident.” The wind farm company Ecotricity said “We don’t know what caused the problem. We are investigating.”

UFO researchers are naturally “very excited” with the incident. Notably the reports of UFO’s in the area came in before the wind turbine was destroyed. Records show there were no aircraft in the area at the time of the initial UFO reports, or at the time of the incident.

Could it have been an electrical anomaly? Maybe some sort of lightning? Methinks not a UFO!

I think a possible explanation is that one of the blades sheared off (perhaps because of metal fatigue) during the 'upward' part of its cycle, and that the centripetal force was not sufficient to carry it clear (the blades are fairly slow rotating) before the second blade collided with it and was buckled as a result. No impact with a mystery flying object is therefore necessary to explain the damage.

And notice that the buckled blade is on the left-hand side of the two remaining ones, and that they rotate clockwise; this would be consistent with it rotating into the sheared off blade. If it had been the other blade that was buckled, this would have been more difficult to explain, because it would have been rotating away from the sheared off blade and so should not have impacted with it.

In addition, if the damage was caused by collision with a mystery flying object, then it would be peculiar if that object had not been brought down by the impact, or at least shed some debris that would have been found nearby.

  18. I think whats more confusing is the fact that they have not found the missing blade yet, windfarms are generally sited it open spaces so you'd expect it to be easy to locate. I'm not sure its UFO's in the traditional meaning. I'm sure we'll find out what happened sooner or later.

That stickman is confusing though :)

oh no! it's the flying spaghetti monster!

  21. Humans don't know squat. Many of these UFOs or USOs are actually biologic living entities. The one of this event merely attacked the turbine in a case of mistaken identity.

Firstly a UFO isnt an Alien Spacecraft. It is an Unidentified Flying Object …so plasma cannons…etc is retarded. You have no idea about its navigation systems so please spare us all from your irrelevent comment.

    - Chris Saad… a ufo isnt necessarily a spaceship. Your a tool.
    - Mo Kargas… Alens? Your a C***

  25. The blade is missing? THE 65 FOOT LONG BLADE IS MISSING!?!?!

    That makes no sense.

    Where did it go?

  26. I like to entertain the possibility of aliens… maybe the UFO was not a piloted craft and was robotic, youknow? and it was just on a trajectory back to the mothership…. so, no navigation system really needed to avoid objects… and then when it hit something they quickly sent another to get it and they had to take the damaged arm of the turbine because it had marks on it that would definitely prove it was something extra terrestrial…

    Or maybe it wasn't.

But we won't know for sure until we find the missing piece of the turbine.

  29. Exactly. I'm all for being skeptical about the cause of this, but it's pretty hard to misplace a 65 foot long wind generator blade. It's not like it's lying under a bush somewhere. As noted, they are very slow moving, as well, so it wouldn't have travelled far if it sheared. If this is a hoax, it's certainly an expensive, elaborate one. I mean, the only possible rational explanation is that someone with a very large truck pulled up and hauled it off.
