‘Fox & Friends’ Ray Rice Joke Goes Too Far: What Did Brian Kilmeade Say? [Video]

Fox & Friends reported the shocking Ray Rice news on Monday, as did most news shows. Before we get into what was said on the show, here’s a little bit of an update on what is going on in the sad world of Ray Rice today.

As previously reported by The Inquisitr, a video of Rice getting into a fight with his girlfriend, Janay Palmer, surfaced online. The video showed Rice getting physically violent with Palmer to the point where she got knocked out cold. The whole thing went down back in February inside an elevator — and was caught on tape.

When the elevator stopped on the appropriate floor, Rice carried Palmer’s limp body out into the hall and dropped her face-first onto the ground. He then tried to move her body using his foot. Some would say that he kicked her.

Fox & Friends reported the Ray Rice news, and added their own commentary, naturally. According to the Washington Post, Brian Kilmeade and Steve Doocy both made inappropriate comments about the very serious situation.

“After running through the details of the assault this morning, co-host Brian Kilmeade joked, ‘I think the message is, take the stairs’… Unwilling to be outdone when it comes to laughing about graphic images of domestic violence, co-host Steve Doocy responded, ‘The message is when you’re in an elevator, there’s a camera.'”

So, for starters, joking about taking the stairs is tasteless. And while it sounds like Doocy was trying to cover up the bad joke, his words weren’t much better. Is he insinuating that you should beat your spouse somewhere there isn’t a camera? Perhaps someone should inform Kilmeade and Doocy that the message is simply don’t beat your spouse. Domestic violence is hardly something to joke about.

The Fox & Friends Ray Rice joke is starting to go viral on social media. Most people can’t even believe that the hosts said such things. Do you think that their jokes were out of line?

According to TMZ, Ray Rice has been released from the Baltimore Ravens and suspended indefinitely by the NFL. The site confirmed the news, adding that “Rice was in the middle of a 5-year $50 million contract he signed with the Ravens back in 2012.” And now, he is jobless. But he is not lonely. Interestingly enough, Janay Palmer forgave Ray Rice… and she married him.
