Molly Glynn Dead: ‘Chicago Fire’ Actress Struck By Falling Tree

Molly Glynn is dead. For those of you who regularly watch the TV show Chicago Fire, you may remember Glynn as an ER doctor in three episodes of the hit show.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Glynn was with her husband on a bike when a falling tree struck her. She was rushed to Evanston Hospital in critical condition and later died from the injuries.

Molly’s husband, Joe Foust, updated his Facebook page throughout the day with word of the terrible tragedy.

It’s heart-wrenching stuff.

The first update came on Friday.

“Friends, this is the darkest day of my life,” Foust wrote. “Things will never be the same. Molly got hit by a falling tree while we were biking. At hospital now. Prognosis is grim.”

He followed this up on Saturday with news that Molly Glynn had died.

“I couldn’t save her. I couldn’t save her. She’s gone.”‘

Foust later went back to the social media site to thank the enormous outpouring of support shown in the aftermath of Molly’s death.

“I want to respond to every individual who has helped out in this terrible time, but not sure when I can,” Foust said. “Molly would be so grateful to all of you. I couldn’t still be here without that support network. I would have laid down next to her and died. I will continue to struggle to find love and joy and goodness. If I was gone, I would have wished she could find those things again, too. I will continue to try to find a new way to live. I just can[‘t] picture it yet.”

Foust’s final update was probably the hardest to see, though.

Along with a picture of him wearing both wedding rings, he shared the following explanation.

“Wearing the rings myself. Preparing to say final goodbye before she goes off to surgery to donate her organs. I know it’s just a shell now, but I’ve grown used to the comfort of her body here in this room. Be kind. Love hard. Remember.”

Molly Glynn Gone, Joe Foust Mourns

A memorial fund has been established in honor of Molly Glynn.

Friends of the couple set it up with a target goal of $125,000. Thus far, the page has raised $113,894 from 1,532 donations.

At the accelerated speed of donations, it’s probable that the target will be reached with little problem, but we know that’s little solace, especially as we look at our own loved ones and try not to think about a world without them.

Our thoughts and prayers to Joe Foust and the rest of the family of Molly Glynn during this terrible time.
