Teresa Giudice Court Hearing Moved Again, Announcement Made With Hashtag On Twitter

Joe and Teresa Giudice have gained one more week of freedom. According to the US Attorney’s Office for the District of New Jersey, the Real Housewives Of New Jersey stars will be in court on Friday, October 3 instead of Tuesday, September 23. What seems really strange is that the Twitter account for the office that made the announcement actually used the hashtag “RHONJ” and used the defendant’s Twitter handle.

It does seem a bit unprofessional to tweet out something like this… using the hashtag and citing the defendant’s Twitter handle… but, hey, it’s 2014.

Teresa Giudice’s defense attorney didn’t seem too concerned with the date change, and obviously this gives his client a couple of extra days of “freedom” (she faces over two years in prison). According to WebProNews, Henry E. Klingeman said that the court is waiting on information “from all sides” before proceeding with the hearing. “[Sentencings] get postponed so that everybody involved can be fully prepared,” he said.

As for his clients punishment for fraud and tax evasion, Klingeman feels as though probation is a sufficient punishment, and that’s what he plans on submitting to the judge. “The plea agreement permits us to do so and it’s certainly a just sentence under the circumstances,” he said.

Teresa Giudice’s husband Joe Giudice is facing a much more serious punishment with about four years behind bars. The immediate concern does seem to be with Teresa at this point, as she has four daughters and is trying her best to make sure that she doesn’t go to jail for any amount of time so that she can still raise her kids. If Joe ends up going to jail and Teresa doesn’t, Tre won’t have to worry about her girls living with family members and/or friends. Many believe that this is the best case scenario for the reality stars.

As previously reported by The Inquisitr, there has been some chatter about Teresa and Joe getting a divorce after they learn their fate. This would likely be a business decision, however, as it is not speculated that the couple is actually having marital problems. Assuming the couple will need to pay fines, Teresa may decide to legally split from Joe so that the money won’t come from her pocket. It is unknown, however, what Joe and Teresa have talked about or if they actually have solid post-hearing plans in place.
