Mariah Carey Keeps Going Despite Divorce
If you were expecting to see Mariah Carey be anything less than her fabulous self because of her impending divorce from Nick Cannon, you’ve underestimated her. Billboard.com reports that Carey is hard at work rehearsing for her upcoming tour “The Elusive Chanteuse Show.”
Carey posted pictures of the rehearsals to her Instagram and Facebook accounts. In the pictures, Carey looks every bit the diva we remember. There’s no sign of stress from the divorce anywhere an on her face.
Carey also posted photos to her Facebook account of her frolicking with three-year-old twins Monroe and Moroccan. Carey captioned the photo “Can’t let go (of summer)” a reference to her 1991 hit song “Can’t Let Go” from her sophomore album Emotions.
Spending quality time with her children before the The Elusive Chanteuse Show may not be the only motive behind Carey’s very public extended play time. As The Inquisitr News reported previously, details are emerging about Carey’s parenting style. Specifically, sources siding with Carey’s estranged husband Nick Cannon claim that the 44-year-old singer is obsessed with maintaining her own image at the expense of her children. Sources describe Carey as spending hours, sometimes late into the night, staring at pictures of herself and obsessing over how she is aging then sleeping all day. The stories about Carey’s alleged neglectful parenting may be a prelude to a battle between Cannon and Carey for sole custody of their 3-year-old twins.
The continuing leaks to the press prompted a tirade from Nick Cannon via Twitter earlier this week. E! Online reported that in a multi post rant, Cannon said: “What infuriates me most is to hear people slander @MariahCarey. I will forever be in debted to her for blessing me with our children… I will always love her unconditionally for this and so much more. @MariahCarey is an amazing Mother and I trust her wholeheartedly.”
The rant came after news broke that Carey and her lawyers had been preventing Cannon from speaking of or even acknowledging the split. Rumors had long been circulating that Carey and Cannon were heading for divorce, but The Daily Mail confirmed that the couple had been living apart since at least June.
Carey’s tour is set to begin October 4th in Tokyo before moving through the rest of Asia. “The Elusice Chanteuse Show” is in support of Carey’s most recent album Me. I Am Mariah … The Elusive Chanteuse.
